What's your favourite shoujo manga?

I loved watching Card Captor Sakura... However, was her brother really in love with his male friend?

 

Well, it would surely be a tragic story unless they decide to go Douluo Dalu on us and have the MC bring back her dead mother somehow.

 

Yeah though I think it was pretty much cut out in english version (though honestly I didn't really notice it probably because they're not the main focus )

 

Touhya was a playah! First he seduces his student teacher when he was only an 8th grader then he decides to go after his best friend. Oh how I love CLAMP drama.

 

Skip Beat and Mars are the only shoujo mangas I've read and liked. I'm not sure if Mars is shoujo though.

 

If I were to pick a favourite shoujo manga it might be Kanata Kara, I guess you could describe it as an isekai from the 90's.
But really I don't like thinking of stories by demographics like shoujo/shounen/josei/seinen, they are arbitrary terms and most of the time only really tells you what the magazine they are published in is marketed as, regardless of what the story actually features.

 

Cardcaptor Sakura will always be #1 in my heart. I'm a super CLAMP fangirl and will forever be~

Their mangas shaped my morals a lot tbh, I'm really glad I discovered them when I was still a teenager~

there is a side story that i find endearing (iirc it's by kyoko hikawa)
the ml is a minor character from the main story and he (as the trope goes) has a childhood friend.
a guy confessed to her and the ml supported this guy.
the girl got upset and confront him
his response was something along the line: "i want you to be happy. but no matter how hard i think about it, i don't know how. on the other hand i think he has a much greater chance to make you happy".

Hmm... I didn't finish some of these titles but I remember buying HanatoYume and LaLaDX just to keep track of some of them. It's been a while since I actually bought shojo tankobons thought. I drifted into josei/seinen slice of life after a while and didn't keep up with the latest publications. If you don't mind, I'm just going to write a dump list now to remember myself to look for them again too xD
