Which of these terms would you pick?

  1. Top-Bottom. (English, please.)

    33.3%
  2. Gong-Shou (Chinese, I want to keep the flavour)

    34.5%
  3. Seme-Uke (Japanese just because...)

    32.2%

Thank you, but trying to MTL stories hurts my brain :notlikeblob: :blobtired: I’ll just stick with what’s already been translated :blobsweat_2: Seke BL’s are super rare. Although manga’s tend to be more common than novels since they’re faster to translate...

MTL terms: 'attack' and 'by' :blobcat_hyper::blobcat_hyper::blobcat_hyper:
If everything else in the translation is in English (no 'ge', 'wang', 'shixiong', 'fei' kinda words) then use English terms - top and bottom.
While the Japanese terms are very recognizable, they just sit awkward in a Chinese-translated text, at least to me. If you already have some Chinese words sprinkled in, just use gong and shou and readers will eventually get used to them. These days I quite like the sound of 'lao gong', I think it's funny and intimate lol, like 'ol' hubby'. Or 'xiao shou' - it's cute. It sucks that they can't get a similar sounding translations in English.

I know the Japanese and Chinese terms for top and bottom, but does anyone know what is the equivalent for Korean BL novels?
    English: top/bottom
    Japanese: seme/uke
    Chinese: gong/shou
    Korean: ?/? :hmm:
It would be good to have more Korean BL novels here in NU.

Amazing... The poll is showing an almost uniform distribution of 1/3 across options...
