Anyone know the term about this annoying typing feature using phone (Gboard) I want to know if this can be disabled When you type some words and you decided to add something in front and press space at exactly in front of the first word (of paragraph), it will delete the first word except the first letter and (blinking text) cursor will be placed after the first letter This only happen using my phone and this is very annoying Edit : Successfully installed new keyboard and problems solved but this lingering feeling unable to get rid the root of problem kinda make me feel some regret that it will came back watching and haunting me
Happens to me too. That spacebar be like : *snap* I removed your word! I've played around with the settings. Doesn't seem to fix it
I hate it too. Tried disabling things. It didn't go away. What I really want to know is.... In what situation would this ever be useful??? Try to fix a typo and lose a word. Or a whole sentence if you keep pressing spacebar.
Thanks for advice but i don't found word prediction on Gboard (sorry i forgot to tell i use it), i try disable Suggestion but it make "setting" that always visible become gone and my problem still there I know something useful when typing in PC using microsoft word or the like, try press "insert" key once and try edit some word that you type before and see, its useful feature called overtype
Just installed new keyboard and yes it work well but I still curious how can there is something so annoying like this and no method to remove or disable it except uninstall, but I doubt it will work because it's default keyboard (just like Google duo, photo, movie, chrome, YouTube and other bloatware)
Yes, overtype is useful, but this one is different. It will scramble words together, delete whole words but leave one letter behind, etc. I had to correct "it will scramble" a few times for this post because I was trying to capitalize "it". "It will scramble" became: Itw scramble Iscramble will and trying to add a quotation mark on the example did this" "i will scramble" (what I wanted) -> i"will scramble" (what I got) *deleted "i and tried to type "* ->"willscramble" Why did the space disappear? Who wants this? And for what? *tries to add a space between will and scramble* ->"wills *removes s and "* *tries to type the beginning back in : "I+space* ->" I willbecame: *realizes I forgot it was supposed to be 'it' not 'i'.* S*one more time and it works for some reason* (*Struggles one) You know what. To protest this system I will leave all errors in all my posts from now on.
I couldn't recreate this problem on my device. What apps does this happen in? What's your Android version and phone model?
If you're interested it's Google Keyboard (Gboard) for android I think the phone type is not important here because after i replace it with 2 other keyboard, the problem didn't occur However you must make full word/sentence like this and put cursor in front "However" and press spacebar Ojldnhfc suigfj jse ,opx iju8o sdfjgv9r random word like this will not work
No. I meant what apps are you typing in using Gboard? Does it happen in every single one? I'm using Gboard and I cannot replicate this problem at all. All that happens to my text is that it moves by one space, like it should. That's why I asked about your phone and OS... Did you try using spacebar swipe to move the cursor?
Usually in my browser, because i often make typo and i have habit to add something in front For message, i don't use english so the problem never happen Just checked again, looks like the newest version is the culprit, i uninstall it (it just roll back to factory version) and when i try it again, it work how it should be. No more problem
