Franxx. Good idea at the start, good execution even. You could see the decline start around halfway then plummet like something tossed off a skyscraper about 2/3rds of the way through the airing run.

Schwarzesmarken. Good universe, good potential. Managed to come out seeming more like a melodramatic soap opera. A pity considering MLA: Total Eclipse managed to balance things so much better.

Argevollen. Pretty mechs and visuals. Shitty as hell story. - This one's more like bad idea, good execution.

Honnestly I am still not sure what do you guys even liked about this one even in the first couple of episodes. 02 straight up makes me feel disgusting to look at for some reason.
This show , Kill la Kill and something something gurenn lagan were all such piles of trash that are liked for some reason.

Early on, at least imo, it had people guessing and pondering and theorizing about the world with the few clues dripfed out every episode. The intereactions were also interesting, at least until they decided to take the melodramatic soap opera route.
Kill la Kill was a bit trashy but it reveled in the outrageous over-the-top absurdity and never even tried to be really serious. Just because something is trashy doesnt mean it cant still be good.
As for gurren lagann, i've never watched it so i dont know what's so popular about it.

Black clover damn it ( ; ; )everything would have been perfect in this anime and got the attention that it deserves if the animation was done by a better company. ufotable would have made this anime perfect. Theres many fight scenes in it and some are just utterly trash.

    I’ll give you an opposite:
Kiznaiver-basic idea (friendship power) done over and over in various anime is executed in a refreshing way that is still trash but somehow decent enough to watch.

Kado and Babylon( currently airing) both written by the same person had great potential. Kado just went dues ex machina the last few episode and went to shit. While Babylon started off as a interesting detective show to a bit of the dues ex machina anime shit, I haven’t watch the recent episodes but it’s was better than Kado. Hopefully it doesn’t turn to shit as Babylon is pretty good.

Hmm... the anime Mahou Sensou comes to mind. The idea was okay its just the execution part that is hilarious.

Ah yes. 5 centimetres per second. I don't remember much but as a Makoto Shinkai film... I just don't feel it could compare to his other decent or amazing works.

    Aria for a Cursed Swordsman.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Luckily Baka is slowly translating the novel. Which isn’t that great but I love.:blobparty:

7SEEDS. The manga is much much better. Gonzo really butchered the anime.
They literally condensed a whole arc into an episode, and another arc into half an episode.

Divergence Eve... what have I watched?

The sci-fi elements are actually cool in concept. But the animation just ruins the show: it makes me think that hallucinogenics were involved in the decision that the cg production was good enough to air. No idea how it got a second season (Misaki Chronicles).

Why TTGL is popular is due to memes and same reason why you said KLK is liked the over the top and beyond the impossible scenes.

I can't tell you how much a disappointment Tokyo ghoul was for me. Watching season 3 was insufferable. I had to take breaks from that... show.

Did you watch Re:Creators first? Juuni Taisen is based on a light novel, it has almost no novelty ideas: group of people forced into a death tournament, secret society, underground assassins, normal people with hidden abilities, etc, etc, ETC not saying the anime is a masterpiece but the author did a good job from what it had in hand, he was able to make a decent lemonade from the few lemons he had.

I can understand that the series has little artistic of cultural value but personally, I think is the opposite of this thread, very average idea with good execution.
