Is there a way to purchase completed stories for a a single/reasonable price? Like... A normal book.
This whole "loot box" Chapter BS doesn't really swing with me on a fundamental level.
I like, even love some of these stories. Not enough to pay $0.50 a chapter or whatever for some bloated filler content.
I find it annoying enough to have to speed scroll through entire arcs of stories, in order to summarize for myself the important parts. Let alone pay for each meaningless chapter en mass.

I apologize, because this kind of turned into a rant.

Summary: Can I buy completed books for a flat rate.

P.S: The rest costs you tree fiddy.

What do you consider a "complete book"? Are you talking about buying volumes or entire series collection?

Well it can only be published has a book if it's fully written/translated.

And publishing a book takes on a whole bunch of licencing that online posting can bypass.

If you really can't wait for translations, and I remind you only translation, you can hire a personal translator to translate the raws ( if it's available online for free). I'm sure it will be fine as long you personally use it, and not publish it.

Completed ones are legitimately sold on Amazon. At least, some of them are.

If the story is a chronicle, then by book. Of course.
If they come out with figurines, T shirts, or "The complete series" might buy that too. Hopefully the author and translator (in our case) gets a good chunk of the proceeds.

So Amazon is still the go-to. Thats unfortunate...
Is there a sticky thread here that I could refer to that lists what's been published by chance?

    Edit: auto correct.

You should be more detailed, what kind of novels are you looking for?
western novels such as harry potter with figurines?
or eastern novels? Look at those with manhua adaption, more likely to have merchandise

I'll just preface by saying, you asked for more detail. (Hah!)

So the way I see it is, this pay per chapter publishing scheme (add in community deadline stress) is drastically lowering the overall quality of stories, and hindering the creative ingenuity and enjoyment of the writing process for the authors.
Let's take the epilogue for the web novel "Mother of learning" for instance. A lot of the very creative ideas that fans came out with, the author really liked some of them, and used a few to finish things up.
Being able to communicate and share "fan theories" with the author as the story is being written, is what I would (personally) pay a monthly VIP access for per chapter.

The "free market" I.e. the first 50-100 "chapters" would be there only to introduce the stories general/plot as well as to allow people to get a lay of the land for the story before they decide how much they personally want to invest in it.
(Kind of like going to a book store, and reading a bit before you decide to buy it or not.)

If a novel is "in progress" you have the option to buy into getting an authors work chapter by chapter. Maybe you get access to a forum where you can share fan theories, hopes and dreams, which the author may or may not check periodically.

Hopefully this VIP access would be used to increase the overall quality of the story itself, instead of a means to make it needlessly longer. An authors "ask the crowd" feature like "who wants too****"

Otherwise, what you could get, should you choose is a relatively accurate load bar as to when the book will be complete, and purchasable as such.

The current system supports A LOT of good stories being 3000 "chapters" instead of however many is required to keep the story interesting and as a whole. Good.

Good translators are just under the prestege of the authors themselves. Like a vice captain. Some of them I think are even better than the authors they're working under (circumstantially). I'd go into battle with... Deathblade for instance, or Ren, or Volare. The battle sometimes (unfortunately) is the story theyre working on.
They need to get their chedder too, and all of them more than deserve it.

Summary: I'm an incurable optimist, and dream of realizing cross cultural utopia daily.

P.S. The rest will be tree fiddy.

P.P.S. Screw AAA, I want SSS

    Thank you.

    [} I dont know lady, I just live here.{]

Could someone start a thread of completed novels on this site.

I guess I could. But... I'm not on the payroll. And I'm not really a big fan of Amazon either. Heh.

Yen Press sells a lot of Light Novels through a myriad of sites, you can probably just google the novel's name and you'll find a reseller.
