Cool, your choice of words had me stumped and curious about what your response would be. ^.^

Yeah distasteful or a flop like...

Should there be boundaries when it comes to humor?

I think not. Mostly because you limit yourself to a specific set of stimuli. And partially because there is no real effective means of creating a boundary. Everyone enjoys their own cup of tea, much like their humor.

You know, laughter is good medicine for the mind and body. When you have a good laugh from humor, endorphins and dopamine are basically released.

Endorphins are good at increasing pain tolerance and are a multiplier with other emotions. (Ever wonder why some people laugh, even though they are injured. Its a natural pain reliever in immediate stressful situations.)

And we've all heard about how dopamine is the happy chemical. So there's that.

Religious, Race, Disability... there are a lot of thing you should not joke about, moderation and consideration is the key.

Morally and ethically, one would think so. If you make a rape joke to a rape survivor and you knew they are a survivor, expect some serious outcry. Heck, if they punch you, while that might not be a response that goes well legally, maybe practically it was justified. So, if you tell a joke, be prepared for the consequences.

Everything has limits. It is inappropriate to make fun of one's parents, one's facial features and one's class. These type of
cracks can hurt someone to a great extent and can also cause depression.:notlikeblob::blob_catflip: These are not jokes rather these are insults being indirectly hurled at the person being laughed at. Hence, one should be careful in choosing the content of a joke:blob_coffee:

It’s like the controversial hate crimes. I’m against them, because people shouldn’t be punished for thinking.

If they hurt or kill a minority, then by all means, throw the book at them. Punish them for the crimes they actually committed. Do NOT punish them for what they’re THINKING.

Make any kind of jokes you want. But if you get boycotted for being a swine, or get food or poo thrown at you for being a racist pig, or bigot, don’t stiff me with the laundry bill.

Being a bigot, or racist pig, or a misogynistic a$$hole is self correcting. :blob_tilt: Society has actually improved...:blobangel:

In addition, there are consequences for what you say: eviction, job termination, loss of friendship(s), etc.

Not trying to encourage anyone of course but over here it does get glossed over now and then. We've got that village mentality of "Well, you had it coming...". It was really common up to ten years ago. Then surveillance and technology improved and we couldn't get away with it as much. Hell, I remember when police officers used to kick your ass if they caught you shoplifting or doing drugs. Then they'd send you home to your parents, who would thank them and then kick your ass.

    No. Never.
I like jokes about historical genocides. My cousin used to tell such jokes, they were hilarious and nobody minded.

Anyway, you should all watch the Ghost Stories dub.
