Last week i read some questionable materials that is morally inappropriate for normies and normal for pseudo-weebs like you and me on Nhentai. But very next day i started to getting messages on phone from my countries telecom department saying as follow:

"Let's unite with MHA to clean cyber space by reporting online obscene content
pertaining to child pornography, child sexual abuse material or rape/gang rape through National Cybercrime Reporting Portal ( http://cybercrime.gov.in ) of MHA"

This is what you see searching loli in google : [IMG]
I'm getting this message phone every 2 days, got one today also. i checked with my friend's and its not nation wide notification, but one my friend said he got some after reading something too.
Is it some kinda harassment by government saying we see all the naughty things you are doing, we will be closely watching you from now on!
i'm not paranoid, it's just that i don't like to watch or read stuff while other people watching, i feel kinda insecure.

Hey I've been doing that for years and never gotten anything like tha-

I mean...well it's probably specific to your ISP. And to the specific laws in your country. In the UK it's definitely illegal, even if drawn, so that would do it. If you're in the states, you technically can't be charged with anything, especially through your ISP's monitoring. Because capitalism. So yeah, if you don't want those messages, either switch ISPs or just use a VPN. Or both. Both is good

I don't doubt that the government might be spying on us but proving that is another story.

Just saying this but google tracks your data and it no longer present results only due to relevance and keyword but a whole artificial/ideological learning algorithm.
if you want those things to stop use a search engine that still use only relevance for the search like duckduckgo

Pretty sure your good as long as you don't have done some specific searches that would lead to the endangerment of people, but who knows internet isn't exactly private.

    It's not spying per se...

People thinking when you are browsing on the internet it's like you going through an isolated tunnel without no one else, so you search for loli hentai in that tunnel.

As a matter of fact to a programmer when you are using the internet, you are actually in a densely populated train ride moving from one station to another while screaming "is there loli hentai here?"

Short answer, yes, the government is definitely spying on you, but so is everyone else. You must remember, to the big companies like Google and Facebook, you (and your data) are their product and tracking and selling your information is how they make money.
The long answer basically amounts to how governments now has an unprecedented ability to track their citizens and non-citizens, how we are slowly moving towards a surveillance state and the end of the concept of privacy is creeping ever closer.

idk what the rules on that is in india ( screenshot-ed warning seems to be from india) but your ISP knows every website you've ever visited. and the government should be able to put warning through google if you search certain keywords. im sure my country has them too but im not gonna look for that info in case it puts me on a special list or something.
just like how you see the FBI or equivalent in ur country catches pedephiles, you ISP is able to (if not obligated) report your online activities to your government if it seems questionable or goes against the law in your country.

not sure if what i said is true but it sounds like basic common sense that the government would be able to see ur browsing history through your ISP (internet provider). and no deleting ur browsing history doesnt really delete ur history. it just hides it from ur PC

One solution is to move out of India. Then you won't be seeing that message anymore.

Every government spies on their people. Part of a governments job is to observe their people in order to enforce laws and protect them from each other and from external threats. To not do so is a foley that could easily lead to enemy spies, criminal activities, and terrorism.

Even internet providers have a duty to police what you go though with their services, and report anything illegal. They mostly wont due to privacy laws in place, but it’s a bad idea to not monitor transmissions in and out of your own country.

How about using Tor and VPN?
Tor is in some ways less secure than VPN, but using Tor with VPN can provide anonymity and privacy on the internet.

Whether police could track you or not is a yes and no. They can do forensic analysis of your computer to determine where you went on Tor. If you use Tails this isn't a problem. Otherwise, when you connect to Tor, not even your ISP or the Police can determine what websites you're visiting, unless the police own those websites themselves and are running exploits.
But of course it doesn't guarantee your protection https://amp.reddit.com/r/TOR/comments/9q3len/is_using_a_vpn_with_tor_a_bad_idea/

Might still be visible to his internet service provider

Thats cute. Next thing you would notice is that voice "helper"(be it google, amazon or any other) always track your voice and sending it to server. There no privacy in internet, but there also less and less privacy in real life.

I thought it would be timely to post this link here:
    https://pixelprivacy.com/resources/browser-incognito-mode/

Basically, there is no such thing as Internet privacy. I mean, there is even software that you can use that can ghost what you are doing AS YOU ARE DOING IT. If you are a programmer and you can created the programme, you will most probably have a way to bypass security and cheat too! I mean, would you create a lock without having the key to unlock if necessary? I think not.

Sooooooooooo....forget privacy online, it's a myth. The only way to keep information off the internet (and possibly other people's hands) is to not post it at all, keep it hardcopy or on hardware that does not connect to any form of online service then hide it and we'll no one...then make sure you don't talk in your sleep. ^.^

And just one other gem for you to think about...what happens to all that information when you pass away? Who ever has it basically owns it. The internet is just the Cyber version of the wild wild West 2.0. Who will complain if they don't know it's there? Who will want to complain? All your nudes, naughty pictures or text becomes other people's property. If you are investigated by police, they can get printouts with the appropriate court orders. Just let that sink in for a bit and consider what you enter into the online arena. *waggles eyebrows*

^.^ My kids know I have 'means' so they are real careful. ^.^ Its an important lesson for them to know...that their mum can be the internet boogyman, then anyone can. Muahahaha.
