It's difficult to MTL when you dont know what/who are the characters involved, and their names ...evventho in mtl all their names will get changed LOL I'm a disapointed w the eldest prince plot (Xian Rui). What happen to him in the end after he was sent away? Did he regret following the schemer and indirectly opposing MC (also not stopping the poisoning)? And did he hate MC and ML for sending him away and not putting him to throne? Was he fine with younger brother taking the throne? And the twins, did they aware of all the events?
But like what's the story line? I got something from the comments about politics, schemes and discovering your family stuff, but like, what's the story line in more details? Can someone pls tell me? It looks a bit boring atm.
This novel is one of the best out there in danmei genre. MC and ML are clever, loyal, good people, and treat each other nicely, they care about their conscience and their love is beliavable and sweet. Also, in many occasions their interactions are hilarious. As for the tone, this is quite light novel, I must say. There are some deep scenes and a bit of drama (not baseless one, everything is tied to the plot), but, all in all, mostly atmosphere is not heavy. And it is written and translated so well! Definitely recommended.
Wait. The 2 Zhong women were Prince Zhong's mother and her younger sister. So how was it the younger sister was the current emperor's little sister? Should be his aunt but no blood relation, right? Or did Prince Ning and the current emperor mother was the same Zhong?
There's a bit of a mix up there, although the ML's parentage is incestous considering everything, it isn't actual incest. The current emperor's younger sister and the younger Zhong sister are not the same person. The younger Zhong sister was an unfavored consort married to the previous emperor who got seduced(duped) by the current emperor into helping him seize the throne. The two had met when they were younger and the Zhong clan considered marrying her to the then second prince, but since her elder sister was married to the emperor it would have been too much, so she got sent to the emperor as well. She's the ML's birth mother. The Royal Princess, the current emperor's younger sister, was one of her brother's greatest helpers along with her husband. She is the ML's adoptive mother who agreed to raise her brother's child as hers after she miscarried her own babe and was given the diagnosis of not being able to conceive anymore.
