How did you discover Novel Updates?

Looking for pirate novel translations. The closer to the source, the better.

 

Same i used to read on bakastuki before the stuff started to get licensed, then went to another site that i dont remember the name but was similiar to nuf, it got closed soon after but i got into coiling dragon ring and other cn nocels at the time and found nuf that was only a few months old at the time, only made an account much later though. Since the feature to remember your novels and chapters was really good, till then had it all on notepad lmao haha.

 

It just happened.

After Aho-updates stops updating novels.

 

there was many translators sites at that time, and i was searcing for something that can keep track of them....i found at first a site named "AHO updates", but that site sucked so much i started to look for other and stumbled on NU....at first i lurked for a month(october) to see if the site goes well, then i registred in november and lurked the site until after dicember.....almost 5 years on NU....times fly fast.....

 

I came from the other aggregator site (been so long I forgot) and a mass exodus to NU happened. So I went with the flow.

I found many novels stop being updated and dig around, finding many settled on NU.

to any novel and chapter question

 

I was looking for more chapters for the TDG manhua. While doing so i found the novelupdates page for TDG and also discovered wuxiaworld. Tho i did not use NU regularly until dome years later even if i had an account. Found NU some months before i made this account but did not use it...
What i used were agregator sites instead of the legit sites...

 

A combination of different soueces brought me here

Followed baka-tsuki and other translators website way back in early 2010s (maybe circa 2013) and lurking around for more novel translation on the net (good ol' pastebin). Along the way stumble across aho-updates when it was first lunch. That time I was looking for MU equivalent of LN. I didn't like their interface but still use it. I quickly jumped ship when NU created. Rest is history.

 

Being lazy I had go around my fav manga translator team website and they had do novel too and I begin reading it. Then after reading all the novel they had, I had checked again their site and noticed the links to NU

 

I was originally a lurker in /r/noveltranslations, i heard of NU there but after awhile i stayed here and that subreddit was kinda dead.

 

Ahhh...before the purge. Back then BT also add link to translator website.

Is Japtem still alive? If I'm not mistaken BT did put links to Japtem on Moonlight Sculptor and that is when I learned about Korean novel existence and VR game genre after isekai

 

Thru Guro-l's site when i was reading slime tensei there was a link along with some recommendations
