So I got the flu recently, and had to take a few days off of school but what are the chances of getting beaten if I cough on the train or bus? Oh, and also I'm Asian but I'm not Chinese but people say that I look Chinese.

A person with flu will show symptoms 6 to 10 times per hour. So lets take the median value of 8
You spend about 10 to 12 hours in public daily, of which let say 1 hour in transportation and 9 hours at work.
Depending on city, transportation and workplace the number of people you meet will vary, but lets go for a conservative estimate.
You travel through public transport and meet 100 people, you said school so let add 200 long expousure individuals.
So let's say that the probability of any short exposure person beating you up when you show symptoms is 0.001%.
So during travel the probability of no one beating you up is (1-0.000001)^(100) per symptom event =99.99% so for the duration of your travel 1 hour with 8 events it is 0.9999^8=99.92%
Now in a workplace, and especially a school the probability of a beating should go down unless there is already a history of bullying or racism
so let's go with 0.0002%
so probability per event is (1-0.0000002)^(200)=99.996% and after 9 hours 0.99996^(72)=99.71%
so over all your day probability is 0.9992*0.9971=99.63%
for the 14 days that you will be sick 0.9963^14= 94.9785%
so the probabilty of being hit at least once during your sick period is 1-0.949785=5.02%

 

Just make sure you wear a face mask. That is the most minimum you should do as a responsible person.

 

Depends on if there is a particular brand of douchebag on the bus. If you are a pretty girl then the chances are reduced to less than %1 in any situation unless you attack first. If you are male then average chance is 50% lol

I heard that wearing a flu mask is grounds for a beating in those countries where it's prevalent. It really depends on your location. Like, if you were in the US, you should have a low chance of getting evil looks so the chances of being physically thrown out should be nearly nil.

I can give you fake confidence, but I don't live in Australia so I'm not aware of the local sentiment. That said, Australia appears to have it under control (53 infected/22 recovered) so you shouldn't be in danger, maybe?

Do you cough openly or with your mouth covered. If covered, is it with tissue or hand.
If hand, do you wipe it using cloth, pants, or public property.

 

If they attempt to lynch you, spit on their faces. Make them regret targeting you. Racists deserve a chance to experience the pandemic.

Also why would people go near a possibly virus infected person? They must be blinded by prejudice and fear or have become retarded from panic.

 

I stayed at home while I was sick but I continued to cough ever since cuz of allergy to pollen. So far no one really cared about me coughing in the buses. How familiar are the people in the bus/train with you?

The people in my bus while not directly knowing me, they have been constantly seeing my glorious face for years by now. It is way more easy to beat a stranger than a familiar face.

 

Be happy that you might only get beat up ... living in another country could be more dangerous ..., 'cause people don't just go mad about toilet paper ... to stop the virus zombies

OP, stay away from blacks as they are the most likely to beat you up, I don't wanna be racist either but I will be so for ya. The majority of the beatings are done by the blacks. Statistically you will be safer that way.
