As a Haematologist, I'm actually very anti-vegan. You get a lot of problems avoiding protein, ranging from anemia to malnutrition and loss of muscle mass. Those people that I see in hospitals that are vegan tend to be much skinnier than "normal" people because they don't have enough protein to replace the muscle mass they use.

Stress is one of the bigger reasons for many illnesses and meditation is one of the ways to relieve self from it.

peace of mind and soul is priceless to the well being of the physical body in my experience. If you meditate right it's...otherworldly.

But then...I also astral travel and all that.

    Believe it or not. :cookie:

Honestly, meditating sounds like a challenge for me.

Especially when my mind tends to wonder on all sorts of thoughts no matter how useless it is when I'm not doing something.
If that's not the case for me, I tend to talk with myself in my mind. It's so hard to stop it once it gets going, ignoring is also not an option

It would be more mental than physical health tho, you just kinda let your brain relax more often which is obviously better for lowering stress and the like.

If you are not able to focus during meditation then you can try this or something similar so that at least you mind will not think about destroying the world or porn.

Here's an interesting fact about budha

Before we know about micro world, budha already said within our body there are millions of consciousness....

    That guy was a genius

I started meditating since I was a kid, the first time was during a long and boring holiday travel in car...
I saw a few documentaries about it at that time and wanted to try it...
I did it often since then, waaay later I met a sophrologist teacher and yogi practitionner that said that I was doing some pretty advanced stuff... :blobcozy:

I usually use a few meditation styles :
    • Simple breathing : you focusing on your breathing, regulating it and nothing else for as long as you can : very easy to do, very plain, minor effect on relieving tiredness and overall fatigue and boosting concentration.
    • Full body concentration (part by part) : you focus on different body parts, one after the other without releasing the previous ones, concentrate on all feelings and senses connected to that body part (weight, the different kind of touchs (inside and outside)), when you attain sufficient sensibiliy, keeping this hightened sensibility and attention on this body part and go to the next part connected to it : it can be quite tricky to sustain the effect while going from on point to another but starting from one extremity will make it easier (if want some harder stuff you can start by your core and expand in a circular way), increased concentration and sensivity, can somehow help with minor pains and physical fatigue (quite efficient to help recovering from an all nighter for exemple).
    • The big cleanup : you let your mind wander, letting every image, though and all the rest out, you don't spend time on each little things, just let them flow, bury you in the stream and the huge number of thoughs going on... Continue like that for quite some time and a moment will come were nothing will appear anymore, you'll then fell a complete emptyness, stay in it for as long as you can. It can be quite tricky to do especially if you try to fix your attention on something, but it's very refreshing mentally, help a lot with concentration, memory issues and after this kind of meditation you will in a great condition for studying, remembering stuff or going into complicated mental work.
    • Emptyness : you just focus on nothing, you let go of any concentraton, forget about respiration you just let it happen in the background, no though, no feeling, just nothing. It seems easy to describe but it's really hard to do expecially if you focus to much on the concept of nothingness and it become something, and it's hard to maintain, if you think or focus on anything else you have to start all over again... It help a lot with mental tiredness, and greatly improve concentration.
    • Senses erasure : erase your senses one by one, by focusing on one of them and slowly make it become an unimportant background noise and disappear, you progressively go from one sense to another and when it's completed you keep this state. It's very refreshing when you came out of it, very effective for relaxation and helping with physical and mental tiredness, sometimes also effective against headaches, once again your concentration is heightened for quite some time after it.
I had a hard time doing some of them but after working of them regularly, I can use most of them even in short bursts in public transportation or at work when I feel tired or lacking in concentration, nowaday I can even use the sense erasure trick to block unwanted stuff (noises that make it hard to concentrate, bad smells, minor pains, etc..).
Many of them are really effective to help recovering from lack of sleep.

If you need some pointers feel free to ask me by I'm self taugh so I'll have a hard time being very technical about all of it.

Dozing off calms my mind~ :blobtongue::blobrofl:

I never really know how meditation work.. but i already do what you call Simple breathing, Full body concentration, the big clean up, and Emptiness in my daily life.. usually when i got bored and procrastinate.
Cant keep the empty thought state in "the big clean up" for long tho..
While "Emptiness" usually happens when i cant fall asleep but i force myself to sleep.

it started as one path for spiritual enlightenment path~ by calming your mind you start to control it~ by control your mind you start control your emotions~ by control your emotions you start control yourself be it mentaly or physically~ by controlling yourself you start to ponder spiritual path~ sound baloney eh? that cuz these day most people more care about practical material thing hence usually meditation only go to stage controling yourself~
tbh to enter meditation state each person may have different way~ some just sit there then boom, some may use technical thing such as sound, scent or movement such as yoga~ yup yoga can be used for meditation lol
anyway based on experience meditation help this cat gain calm perk~

One way to keep the empty state of "the big clean up" going is to continue to let thoughs flow even when there is no more, even when nothing came out anymore.
If there are some thoughs surfacing later just keep at it and don't stop, it help making it last longer.
