Chapter 16 - more commentary how good she looks in her outfit in the ball - uses her authority to pressure "clifford" to dance with her - clifford says he might betray her and talk about weapons? then he reveals that his some in his sleeves and shoes? or was it the princess? Then he comments whether or not if the princess finds her results boring.
Chapter 17 - Octavia begins to dance with her guard knight - they speak about their relationship - Clifford asks her for her orders - Octavia ponders on what kind of master does he want her to be - Octavia says something that causes him to call her unfair? betrayer? - They hear a commotion and the escort knight takes out a knife and goes to the commotion finds it is the guy who spars with her younger brother. That dude shits himself realizing who the escort knight is.
Holy shit. Alex's POV chappie is friggen depressing! - He wakes up from the dream where he was the King that killed his sister the Queen. - The King of dream adored his sister and wonders why he was forced to kill her; As he holds her dying body he curses the common people, the kingdom, and himself that he had to kill someone so beloved to him. He thinks back on happy days where his sister would nag him to get more exercise and not spend his days with books. - Then in walks, the escort knight as someone who looks like him and mockingly says "Congratulations on grabbing power and becoming King. How does it feel? You are now taking on the responsibility of a nation." - The King in Alex's dream starts freaking out at him - Alex wakes and goes about his day and realizes he has no friends. Especially, those who are commoners. He knows he's being influenced by the dream for a long time and part of him looks down on them. That he feels that the same commoners that would praise you - would also bring you down once they felt the least bit of unhappy with you. However, he makes an exception to his escort knight. - He then has a conversation with the king about the MC. Then Prince Alexis asks the king if he hates him. - The Kings says no, but the Alexis knows better - he knows that he's a total liar. He knows that his mother also doesn't care about him either. Both either have emotionally, mentally and/or physically abandoned him. His only source of joy was his sister and who worried about him. Also, as he grew up she ensured she took care of him and didn't make him feel lonely. - Alexis believes he has nothing but resolves that his sister will live. That he won't be like in his dream where the Usus was forced to kill his sister against his personal wishes. No matter what. His personal wish that his sister would live would be an absolute reality.
I read on manga rock, but I simply can't understand why the 1st prince hate her so much? Also I really got annoyed with this whole yaoism world, I mean this world is truly not fair for women And I really need spoiler somehow TT__TT
Well, even without the yaoi. It would ve been like that, just that the queen would ve some bit power or would be just some figure head next to the king with the rest of the harem. The rest of the women wouldve been sorta be the same. The setting is sorta playing like in the past and its royalty... The men would still take a mistress at times or in the case they fell in love in a man. Similar stuff wouldve happened. In short. The past is cruel.
I've read up to chapter 36, so I'm here to share some spoilers for everyone! I started from the manga and was hooked so I went to dig out the webnovel. It's still ongoing at chapter 61, Arc 1 and the author says on the page that it is being updating leisurely so it will probably take a while to finish! This novel is quite a gem but I can imagine it was horrendous to MTL because of the formal language and round about way of speaking the characters use because of the setting. I really think that there is a lot of potential in this and hope that this novel gain more interest. *Some major spoilers ahead* 1) A little on the setting of the current world I see some questions on why Octavia would let herself be alone with Klifford in her room. Octavia said that she trusts him, and anyway most of the guys in the capital are interested in guys, so much so that it was more suspicious for two guys to be alone in a room than for a guy and girl to be alone together. In fact the situation is so dire that the females in the capital pretty much had no chance finding a husband. All the sparkling eyed maids looking for love in the capital all end up with dead fish eyes after seeing the boyxboy couples everywhere. It was more reasonable to go to the rural areas to find a husband instead. Which leads to a suspicious point because during one of the chapters from soldiers' perspective he said that he was one of the two guys left that were interested in females - the guys that came from the rural areas had became interested in guys after spending time in the capital. So it feels like there might be a 'curse' or something unnatural going on.... Which kind of leads to the first major revelation for the story. 2) Regarding Tazawa Maki's death and the memory that Octavia refuses to recall In Octavia's previous life she was Tazawa Maki, a 18 year old high school girl and a fujoshi. She was addicted to a BL novel called 'Kouketsu no Ou'. One day, on the way home from school and looking forward to the latest issue of the novel, she happened to be waiting for the traffic light to change with a university age guy beside her. The university age guy suddenly grasped his chest and collapsed onto the road. A car swerved to avoid him and ended up crashing into Maki instead, resulting in her death. When she regained consciousness, she was in a dark place with twinkling lights. A beautiful doll-like youth with golden hair and amber eyes appeared and called her 'unlucky'. She was unlucky because his 'partners' were trying to kill the guy, but she ended up accidentally dying as well. As for why his partners were killing the guy, it was for an experiment to see if useless, good for nothing NEETs like him could have the potential to become someone big in another world aka they were playing around and treating humans like white mice. Maki tried to reason and then begged him to revive her or reincarnate her back in Japan since he had the power to do so, but was rejected by the youth as it was not worthwhile for him. He gave an illustration of whether she was spend big bucks just to save a random stray cat that was heavily injured by the roadside. Even though she could potentially save it by sending it to the vet and paying a ton of money was it worth for that amount of money? Even if she could have borrowed from her friends/family/relatives, or even robb a bank - a lot of ways for her to amass the amount, would she do that for a random cat she happened to pass by on the street? However, even though it was not worth his effort to save the cat, he would still feel sorry enough to provide food and drink until the cat's death. So he suggested that as compensation, he would create a brand new world based on the BL novel she was addicted to and put her into the world with her memory as 'Maki' intact. He did not specify who she was going to be, just that it was a female, one of the important characters in the novel and comfortable. He also asked for her opinion on how she wanted the world to be. As the original light novel left out a lot of the details blanks, he will be patching the detailed setting in in his own way so he wanted to know what her wish was. As a fan of the novel, Maki said that she wanted Celius to become King, and the two main characters to be together. The youth promised that what she wanted will come true, and that by the time she was born, the world will become a place of the novel - a country where boys love was accepted. Before he sent her off, he told her that he was looking forward to seeing her potential. Maki was very traumatised by the encounter (she died w/o reason, gets compared to a bug/cat/mouse, told that she was insignificant and forced into a situation out of her control) and decided to 'seal up' her memory of that encounter until something happened in chapter 30+ that caused her to recall that memory.
Ah, it wasn't like she really couldn't remember, just that it was a bad memory she wanted to throw deep into the recesses of her mind. But basically what happened was that Octavia finally got the chance to meet up with Rust Burn during a ball. Like a typical mysterious antagonist, he only told her via a note through her friend 'not to turn him down when he asks for a dance'. The dance hall that he specified was a part of the ball where people had to wear masks, so Octavia heads over there and waits for his contact. The 7th person Octavia was dancing with was a well-built youth with golden hair and a mask that covered his forehead and made his eye colour unidentifiable. Octavia has her suspicions, and it was confirmed when he said the same sentence as the note. In the novel, there wasn't a frontal picture of him, so to confirm that it was the correct person, she asked him to show her his face to see if he had the same forehead marking as Rust Burn had in the book. The guy agreed and flashed his face to her for just a moment. Octavia was deeply shocked because while yes, he had the forehead marking Rust Burn was supposed to have, he also looked exactly like the youth/'God' she met when she died. She more or less immediately asked to be excused after and ran to an empty room. Then a long flashback begins and the readers finally find out what was the cursed memory she has been referring to.
ohhhh crap. Anyone placing bets that he's the same guy who died too?? I know there's a possibility it isn't but....
I actually feel like Rust and Alex are the same person... Or at the very least definitely somehow related. But my gut feel tells me Rust is an older, and possibly time travelled version of Alex.
According to latest translated chapter of manga, I think there's something wrong with big bro. Maybe someone use magic on him to make him hate MC? Since best friend told him he's actually really adore his sister but big bro said he didn't remember any of that.
I... don't understand. How can Rust be a time travelled version of Alex if he looks like the youth/'god' that Maki encountered? If that's the case then her memories should have been triggered the same way when she saw Alex' face.
i also don't understand this (my apologies!) but how can the youth/'god' be the same as the person his partners killed?
As I suspected! Octavia really didn't have any choice in where she went! I just didn't have a complete clue as to why she didn't have a choice! But thanks for confirming that for me!

So i have only skimmed through chapter 61 since i dont have much time and wanted to see where this was going, and have read only the chapter 61 raw Spoiler: Chapter 61 it seems that the older brother have blamed mc’s knight for targeting syl. Syl had an accident in his carriage and they blamed him since he was nearby, for some reason he was ordered to fight (ig they decided this in the chapters before) against nathan(?) and won after winning the knight said that he wasnt the one who did anything to the carriage, in fact there was another person who was near the carriage. The knight said that he didnt see the face of the person since he has a habit of looking at the weapon a person is carrying then the face. He said that the person has a unique sword and that unique sword is held by the older brother’s knight. Mc told her older brother to not ignore her knight’s testimony and look through it. The chapter finishes here. Once i have time I’ll try to read other chapters and post some important spoilers <3
Older brother is too biased towards our MC. It's kinda annoying me because she never ever show any inclination to the throne.
yea but there are circumstances behind it. For example in the manga it looked like he was manipulated? Or sorta. Like something intervened in his way of thinking of his sister in a better way
OMG I remember this one. It is absolutely BAFFLING to me how this story was popular enough to go on for such a long time and even be turned into a manhwa. Like, who in their right mind would enjoy this? Especially since the target audience seems to be female! Aaaanyway, Yeah it seems there is something more going on, because it looked like he completely forgot all the good memories with her for some reason. It might be a side effect of her transmigrating into that world, or maybe something more. What I don't get is: Clearly, she has no issue with them being together, she just doesn't want to be turned into a baby factory for someone else and be forced to give up her child (which makes perfect sense), so why does she not just sit them down and tell them that?
