Herd mentality never helps. Will herd immunity be any better?

 

Try to survive the virus? I can imagine this going to a very wrong path.

The number of testing kits in the US has already highlighted the extreme wealth disparity between the rich and the poor. Imagine if only the rich were to survive this sickness thanks to the number of resources they have as compared to the poor. This isn't survival to the fittest. It's inequality and basically a purge of the non-rich people.

 

Guess nobody needs to do the snapping. Just let natural selection snap us.

 

You can take any medication you want in minor doses, but take them as preventive medication. Once you do get the covid19, suppression of symptoms will only cause silent and steady respiratory tract illnesses.

TLDR: These don't cure the virus. They can protect you to not get it, but research is inconclusive on their efficiency/effect. While taking them in small doses is not at all an issue, any artificial supplements should be minimised if you have a choice.

 

Make sure to follow the advice of an actual doctor if you get sick. Don't rely on random tidbits of info from the internet, and your powers of google fu.

Also, herd immunity comes from vaccination. What western countries are doing is trying to slow the spread of the virus so that we have fewer seriously ill people simultaneously, and don't instantly eat up all of our healthcare capacity.

 

I think you have the wrong idea of herd immunity. The goal is to avoid infecting everyone until a vaccine is developed the have everyone get that. Though no everyone listens. In Italy some people are still going out....
Also I heard the zinc and vitamin C were not recommended. Your body can only absorb so much and taking more supplements only puts more strain on your body to filter it out.

 

Herd Immunity works.
The question is, if the price one has to pay to achieve it is worth it though. AFAIK, it should be too high for Corona.

Please, don't wrap all western countries as the same, and please choose your referents better. Most western countries are officially taking the approach of self-isolation and sanitization, and many have temporarily turned into a crime to go out without a good reason (good reasons are listed, and also limited).

Hm, where did u get ur info from, if by western countries u mean europe then as far as i know most of them (expect england) are also trying to contain the outbreak (quarantines, work from home shutting down shopping malls, markets, preventing ppl from leaving their homes ect).

Also where I'm at everything is closed. You can call in but that's it. Hospitals are the only place you can just walk in. Even vets and doctors are closed to the public.

 

Please don’t give false information, this is a serious issue and not something to spread false news. For starters, no that stuff doesn’t help to avoid the virus, the only way to not get infected is not having any contact with infected people and use the appropriate ways (wearing face masks, washing your hands a lot with soap for at least 20 seconds, not touching your face, staying 1 mt from people, not having any kind of contact with other people). Once you get in contac with an infected person, you get it, and that’s too late. If you are lucky you don’t have any symptoms, if not you will get in the worst case a pneumonia, and that need oxigen machines.

Again, the herd immunity thing was only a thing that a politician in Great Britain said he wanted, which now has been obviously revoked since even the UKis going in a lockdown like most of other European countries.
I live in the European country with more deaths atm, and our health system is collapsing. They are treating patients literally in every corner of the hospitals, and they were forced to convert other places in temporary hospitals too. I assure you we can’t go out, only to buy food and if we have work (but most workplaces are closed, they just left open the necessary ones) and we need a permit to go out. If they catch you going out for no reason, it’s a fine and a criminal charge on your head (worst case, prison).

 

No. If you're talking about the UK, they've scrapped that plan. Read updated news at least. Acknowledgement on the minority of retards who are straight up ignoring the self-isolation measures and other restrictions.

New Zealand is currently at stage 3 and we're going into planned stage 4 restrictions midnight Wednesday our time (GMT +12).
