I read the manhwa but it was annoying: despite everything else was good, the artist was so bad in drawing facial expressions. Then I tried the novel, I got annoyed even more, the MC... maybe the author was trying to portray the MC as a typical slave, (just like Ymir Fritz 'founding titan' of Shingeki no kyojin). She (Chloe) had thoughts of a slave, acted like a slave, even her soul was dyed with slave-color, she was a reincarnator with memories of modern's era, yet she easily accepted the horrible treatments as if it's inevitable. Then she fall for a guy who nearly killed her, other people was tortured and killed right in front of her eyes because of his order. The ML was like a kid that refused to mature. He had a tragic past, sure, but he acted like he is the only one with unhappy life. He treated women like sh!t even though they didn't do anything to him. A woman with no backbone and a man with no boner. What a couple!
