LN is long and it is tag along Harem not arc for arc one girl so we see all the girls all the time. It is a good concept for a harem anime but the novel suffer from it because you have to many characters on set each time so you get less deep characters...
Not sure about how they chose to start it. Its very confusing for non Ln readers. They just throw out future Wendelin and pre reincarnation AND present Wendelin... Making it like showing how he will become OP in the future. Basically spoiling side characters. Worse than having a spoilerish opening in the 2min start.
I stopped reading the novel after the 8th give the 1st his sound trashing, and kill him too. All i know is that the novel is becoming a big heaping pile of harem ass with so many waifus and concubines and lovers that is way over the top.
I did not watch it, having know what happens in the novels. I stopped at the insurrection arc. I do know, however, from seeing future volume illustrations, my boy is going to have a lot of women.... and babies. I suppose I could watch it, but it will definitely not have a season 2 or more sequels due its long ass pacing. The story does give me a Mushoku Tensei vibe, if you know what I mean. No, not the harem part, since even proto-Rudeus would die of envy from seeing that.
And panties... And seafood. I gave up at the reclamation of the Cursed Forest arc. Slow updates. But I’m willing to give it a view.
If you're interested how aristocracy is seriously handled, then I recommend you reading this, because wow! This is how I learned about them experienced guides under them bed sheets. Still can't stomach it, though. Must be cultural differences. Spoiler: Content I've seen so far in the novel Politics in high doses. Religion in small doses. Harem just even. Action is serious. Comedy is a little skew. RIP certain crush. Enough personality to develop, but still needs more refining. Noblesse oblige as nobles. Very nice illustrations. Arc progression slow. Power scaling is balanced.
Iirc mushouku had the decency to stop at three, 8th guy here ran to ten, and counting, like he some sort of merc with a horse penis.
He's gotta spend those surplus of his earnings during his adventures and missions from the king. What better way than providing for his wives and children? He surely surpassed his father's footsteps, having ten or more sons/daughters? Ugh, aristocracy sucks when you just want to live life as a rich bachelor. Forced to follow noble etiquette, marry someone, get kids, and only to find out your wife is screwing with your butler or gardener. I rather join magic societies and stay in my tower researching on demi-humans.
Though Korean or Taiwanese would be worse... Kimchee or Stinky Tofu... (yes, I’m Korean...but kimchee is an offense to nature.... )
Much of the charm is lost due to rushing the plot. Though as a slice of life (with dragons) it would be hard to show the things The MC enjoyed...
