The problem is they think anyone who is not human is not a person, and consider those who believe otherwise to be evil, corrupted, blasphemers and/or degenerates. their view on the origin of the non-human races is somewhat telling as to their mindset. Even though there is direct evidence thqat aspects of their faith is wrong (if their "god" is the source of light attribute and it only exists as a gift from said god, then no one outside their church, let alone non-human, should ever have access to the element. That priests of other faiths have access is direct proof that there are flaws in their beliefs). Heck since they were drugging their summoned heroes to make them obedient should be a sure sign that you are in the wrong, but I half expect the churches actual higher leadership to know that on some level and just be using the faith to serve their greed and selfishness.
