    The switch is automatic. The old Youtube layout has to be done manually.

    I find it annoying YouTube sometimes switches its features. Old, new, or super new. What annoys more is its large thumbnails and scroll bars not in sync.

    Apr. 23 is the 15th anniversary of "Me at the zoo", the first uploaded YT video. YT launched on Feb. 23, 2005 by 3 guys.

    I still use my firefox browser old configuration in waterfox (a lot of old extension cannot be installed in new firefox) only for youtube, there is only one problem with it, sometimes the video thumbnail in my home page doesnt load. (i never get those blue bar before, it only appeared after I use youtube in my laptop, which i need to change the cookies to transform it into old youtube)

    I think the new youtube layout is designed to be more mobile device friendly (they change their web framework to acomodate mobile browser better than the old web framework), somehow this reminds me of gaming, where the developer/publisher will "downgrade" their game to acomodate consoles.




    i hope that i never accidently click that cursed button on the blue bar bellow the search bar

    Get ublock origin, click the icon, click element picker, select the blue box telling you to switch, then click create in the pop up to get rid of it for good.
    For universal dark mode install the dark background light text add-on for firefox. There are chrome add-ons that do similar things but I don't remember what they're called. This will give you dark mode for every website, some sites won't work well though so you may need to set rules to have it turn off when browsing them.
