Digimon Reboot: Episode Discussion [Spoilers, duh]

Aye! That was confirmed a few weeks ago actually! (since the in-training form did appear in trailers and in promotional art and stuff)

Ikr!? I was really surprised when I saw the 2nd episode is already the name of the movie!!!

The intro and endings got my heart pumping!!!

And I really liked the change in focus from Taichi to Yamato on the ED, and how he'll probably have a bigger role this time from beginning until end... Looking really forward to it~ <3

It would be nice, especially because they'll reach Omegamon still within the anime after all, so it would be a bit sad if the rest wouldn't even get their megas...

I wonder if they'll show Omegamon's Merciful mode too...

On a side note, Greymon's design was slightly changed to lose the talons on the back of his feet, and I think he was more yellow and less orange before? It was a bit surprising to see it like that~

Oh oh oh! And that evolution sequence mid-fight... That was just so...

Aye, it's definitely not the worst scene ever... Though it scares me a bit, like...

It was in the first 4 minutes of the very first episode, and it was a slightly long scene (I think 10ish seconds?) with that quality... And like, nothing else was happening in the scene to distract you from the horrible quality, and they were the characters you should be focusing on in the first place...
I usually expect this kind of thing to happen later on, and to background characters that aren't very relevant and stuff.

So uhn... I usually don't even notice those parts with terrible art, but this one really stuck out to me... I hope it's the only one that is bad enough to the point I notice it...

 

I don’t think this scene was a mistake. Going from A to B like that, to me anyway, really shows a contrast in emotions and emphasizes shock or surprise. A similar scene is drawn in the kizuna movie too, I believe. If I’m to use that as a comparison, the over all art of that movie was excellent. So, my guess, this was intentional .

I watched it. This is how it went. First it was like this, but then came that. Afterwards, there were some of these and those, followed by something and another. But in the end, more happened. It was a great movie~

I honestly have to watch it again. I could understand what happened, but I didn’t actually understand what anyone was saying for the most part >.>

I’d like to point out that Greymon’s first clearly shown attack upon finishing his evolution was “tail whip”~

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!

WTF are those writers thinking!? Omegamon episode 2!? And aren't they fighting a mega form already at this point!? OMG!!!!

How are they going to keep the tension with digivolutions and stuff if we got Omegamon this early!? OMG! Those writers are going wild!!! I'm so hyped for the next episode!!! >.<

That said, this episode was a bit too plotless tbh, it's not what I expected from Digimon because it was basically battles from beginning until the end... But it showed a bit of Yamato's character through that, which was nice.

But gosh, I'm reaaaaaaally hyped for the next episode~

 

Say, is it just me, or does that sound like goku giving the introduction at the start of the episode??

Spoiler: Episode 2

So, I’ve also watched it now. Like was said above, introducing Omegamon takes away all the tension from team up battles. Unless they do something where Taichi or Yamato aren’t available to join the team and then they have to depend on themselves, most battles aren’t going to be that exciting.

If they do do what I just said though, that creates a different set of tension. The kind where others will be mad at why one of the two wasn’t there when they needed him.

Overall, the hype build up is good. I think they should have ended the episode with Koshiro having his face against the laptop out of despair though. that would have really left a sense of doom and anticipation for the next episode.

 

Oh, Goku is the narrator indeed! You got that one right! XD

Spoiler: About Episode 2

I don't think it will take away the tension tbh, it feels like Omegamon was only possible due to Hikari and Takeru's intervention, and like...

What will probably happen in the future is that they'll be unable to do Omegamon at will IMO. So things will still develop normally.

I think it also needs their feelings to align pretty well and stuff, like... The ending focuses basically on Taichi and Yamato's duality (at least IMO), and on how Yamato has a hard time getting closer to others... I think this distancing he has, paired together with the need of Takeru and Hikari's help, will make Omegamon not appear again for a long while.

At least this is how I feel! Overall I'm still pretty hyped, and I can't wait to see Sora, Mimi and Jyou get introduced! \(^^)/

On a side note, seems like there is an extended preview for episode 3 that is about 2x the size of the in-show preview.
