Make-up was invented to seduce and enhance the beauty. People just want to look prettier and i don't mind that. Asian Make-up on the other hand...
Its the same with fashion. Why do people wear cool looking clothing? Because it makes them look good. Make up is the same. It enhances and creates beauty. People do make up and wear fashionable clothing to feel good about themselves. I wear my yeezys because i enjoy how i look wearing them. What you call shallow, and i it is, is something that is and has been practised by 90% of all adult people and has been done since the first civilisations sprung up
make ups weird I myself don't wear make up cause I'm allergic to some stuff in some and because I don't like the waxy loook it gives some people. Its a big turn off.
I am not calling something 'shallow'. It is shallow. It was just so widespread, common and continued that it has become something that is viewed as natural.
I wasn't able to stand anything painted on my face since a kid either I dunno how people are able to get used to that feeling. As for the waxy look, I thought that I was the only one that found it unsetting lol.
So? Why are you working? To get money? So shallow. You better go and become a volunteer. Why are you still reading that novel? Isn't it only to chase after pleasure? So shallow. Go read medical books and become a doctor ah.
Is it really that big of an issue though? What is the negatives of it being an accepted part of society? Ans why is it shallow?
The ironic thing is that I do volunteer when I am able to. But it wasn't what I tried to imply. I am sorry you took it the wrong way, I still need to practise my writing more. Nothing. I will repeat myself, I did not intented to shame or offend anyone, I just want to hear opinions on this.
You did though. You called it shallow... If you wanted impartiality in this discussion, then you shouldn't have provided an opinion on the matter.
I particularly don't like to use make-up, at most lipstick to give some color or hydrate my lips (with sun protection). I have a mixed type of skin that's incredibly oily on the T zone and where I live is too damn hot almost all year round and too humid, if I where to try using it I would have to put lots of things on my face to try to hold on, and it would have to be goddamn expensive since I have an acne prone skin and those cheap make-up product will only make me full of trouble....... so, I'd rather try treating my skin well (with dermocosmetics with green flag/points) than put make-up. But yeah, make-up for some women is a way to make themselves look and consequently feel better (a big transformation, or just giving color or enhancing their beauty), after all not everyone have the money to do cosmetic/plastic surgery/lasers, nor does everyone feels that their face shape is good enough or that is alright to not use make-up to only invest on treating their skins, so they rely on make-up to feel good about themselves, everyone has their own way of increasing their self esteem .
...Yo dude, you either accept that cold and hard fact like you did there or continue to consider the my use of 'shallow' as something despective.
So? It doesn't matter ah. Some of those volunteers also wear make up. They are still shallow, no? You should only do stuff that benefit society and nothings more. Do not shave or dress nicely too. Do not wear parfume to smell nice. It's nothing but useless stuff. Lol. That aside. I always wonder why so many man complains about makeup. As for me, I wear make up because: 1) I like being pretty and not look dead. 2) Wearing makeup is like being tidy. 3) In some place and job, wearing makeup is a must. Someone who didn't wear any would be deemed unprofessional。 For some job (secretary, front office staff) not wearing one is a violation of dress code and is punishable. Well, you better go and learn the difference of fact and opinion again too.
Your way of attributing makeup as something shallow is different from mine. Its not a fact, it's an opinion. How can you, someone who probably doesn't use makeup, think he is capable in denouncing it? Do you consider playing video games shallow? Or reading recreationly? What about working out and sculpting your body? To some they are shallow, but to those that do them, they are not. I dont use makeup. And never have i. I called it shallow, because of my ignorance of it. I see it as something akin to fashion, which i view as shallow as well, despite owning and wearing expensive clothes. It isn't a cold hard fact. Its just you viewing your opinion as such. I don't view my opinion as such, because it inherently is an opinion. And may change in the future.
Let's just be real here, I'm a guy, and if I see 2 girls, one with great make up on (very light, brings up her face features) and the other without any make up on, I'd be attracted to the former. Would I base any future relationship on that attraction? Hell no. You have to dig deeper into the personality of the girl. But in general, an adult smart thinking girl would know, in order to give a good impression to others, she would have to be presentable and a bit eye catching. Any further communication is easier after the fact. Guys do this too. Even Steve Jobs who abhors ties and suit (hence the 1 outfit pick for his entire life) looks good.
because their face with make-up is completely different from one without....and some put even more make-up than an actor wearing an alien mask....
