So I've recently returned to reading light novels again, and I began reading Invincible. Now, I read Invincible knowing full well it's your run-of-the-mill generic face-slapping harem-gathering *deap breath* non-existent romance brain-dead xianxia novel. What I don't understand is, why would someone read 1400 chapters of this novel and complain about its blatant repeated scenarios and plot devices when it's so obvious within the first 100-200 chapters that it's such a novel? Is it because they somehow didn't realise and are too deep in to stop reading? XD That's pretty funny now that I think about it. Anyway, on a separate note, any new Xianxia novels pop up that're as good as I Shall Seal The Heavens? It's been a while and I've had my fair taste of novels like Invincible for the time being, having read all the chapters within the past week (thank you Quarantine..). I'd rather not trawl through since I've been away for a long while. (It's been a while since I've posted, obviously, so if I can't ask for recommendations within the same post on the general discussion then my bad mods)
You read 100 chs to suspect it's cliched; you read the next 1300 chs to confirm your suspicions. Only after you're sure of it's trashiness, you complain. Otherwise, imagine the novel suddenly taking a turn for the better after 100 ch... wouldn't that be a slap to your face?

So that someone wont accuse you of not reading far enough after you complain. Youd be surprised how far some will go to save face... As for if there are any good xianxia, the answer is no... but i can tell you there are a few... they simply get really good past chapter 4000

People has too much time! XD Reminds me of those anties where they go to videos or page or whatever then express their hate on the subject. In any case, they're increasing because of quarantine, so people have too much time to become trash.
I always try to read halfway through a story, then I make a judgement. Sometimes I know right of from the beginning. Most of the time I try to force myself. It could take a turn. Also this way when I write a review, I won't feel guilty about not having given the story a chance. Most of the time I feel like I wasted my time.
