Since the translator came out of hibernation and started posting again I re-read this series from the beginning because I had forgotten most of it.

Now that just read 112 chapters all at once I've realized this is one of the worst harems of any novel I've ever read. I didn't notice before because it's hard to keep a big picture view of a story when the chapters come so infrequently but now I wonder just what was the author thinking with this kind of a lineup:

Caroline: special ability: ultimate defense magic that can protect an entire city from an ancient dragon's attack
Alexia: special ability: can fight and cast magic, but not as well as Lei
Aerith: special ability: can fight and cast magic, but not as well as Alexia
Priscilla: special ability: good with children
Chrona: special ability: has a tail
Ferris: special ability: has a tail, but more prone to domestic violence than Chrona
Helen: special ability: none
Eclat: special ability: pre-verbal

The worst part is that aside from the absolutely awful harem, the rest of the plot is actually not too bad and improving with the later chapters so it isn't really worth dropping.

 

Yeah, but it is like bacon. So bad for you, but so delicious.
