So I remembered reading a novel on uukanshu which has a plot where a chinese scientist assistant/student or something that does research that has longing for some super power stuffs (Earth Planet Plot) so he likes to read novels and movies about super powers, I remember X-MEN And other movies being mentioned as passing by, and it starts as his professor or higher-up gave him a stone/rock found near the crater of the volcano to test because his professor thinks it has some special effects and MC discover when heating it, it releases gas where it enhances his physical abilities and give him some other powers then he tried to go to that volcano (I think it's in Hawaii) but then all volcano in the world spewed those power sources etc. I also remember author made a character who has a backstory of jumping of the cliff on the future and being reincarnated in the body of someone the MC killed which made me gave a deep impression of it that world doesn't revolve on MC ~
