What’s a funny moment between you and online friends? My moment This evening I had on my Bluetooth headphone playing music in the background while I went around the house cleaning. I had just finished texting my sister on FB messenger and left my phone on the counter, when the ring came. It was the usual ring from the FB messenger when a FB friend called. I immediately thought it was my sister. She was struggling to sew a mask using the pattern I had provided her so I thought she probably want to discuss it. I clicked my headphone to answer the call, “ yea—what’s up girl?” The other side, “...” “A-lo?” I cutely and charmingly spoke. I waited, but no reply. “A-lo?” I repeated and waited. This was quite common. My sister often has connection issue. Not sure why. Her reason was always headphone related. I guess she calls me before she has her headset connected or something. I waited patiently for another few seconds before the phone do that sound indicating the other person hung up. I thought it was weird and got my phone. I pulled up FB messenger and was quiet confused that the app did not show a call was conducted in the chat between me and my sister. I haven’t even question myself “ then who called? A glitch?” when a text popped up. “Sorry, it was my phone. IDK how but it called you,” wrote one of my long time online friend. “Oh, I didn’t even know. I thought it was my sister,” I honesty replied back. He proceeded to apologize and explained himself, which I forgive him for. Why would I hold a grudge? I couldn’t help laughing to myself, he could have just told me verbally. I guess I spook him with my what attitude and then the cute a-lo. What would you do if your phone accidentally called an online friend that you had never verbally spoken to—just all texts?
While I was chatting on Disqus a few years ago, a flying cockroach entered the room. I gave a play by play description of the ensuing chaos, after it was done. The moment that I always remember, when someone asks me how much do I care about my online persona. Terrifying!
I remember joining a random vc with 30+ people and just started stating whale facts while basically eating my mic. It was pretty stupid. I don't regret it, though. "New phone who dis?"
You know those types of people that basically talk with their mouths close to their mic, and basically earrape the other people? Yeah, that thing. I think I was drunk when I did that?
Years ago, I befriended a lol player from Greece. We exchanged nicks and proceeded to get into a Skype call. Now imagine a spanish dude speaking broken spanglish to a grecian dude also speaking broken english while being able to perfectly understand each other. Fun times.
guild irl met up~ when there some guild members somehow on one province then we decided to see each other~ there were some females.... culture shock cuz back then female online gamer is rare creature..... you see back then online gamer girl mostly G.I.R.L so yeah~ sho~cku~
Got a text that is apparently for someone with the same name as me. I thought it was for me since the topic of discussion was quite relevant to me. It was only after about 20 exchanges that we realised we were talking to strangers
I don't have online friends My presence on the internet is generally quite low, i don't even have a discord lol. Online friendships just seems too intangible, imo. I don't think i could or honestly even desire to form relationships with people over the net
Uhn... Funny moments? *ponder ponder* Well, I guess I can share that I made a discord react in one of the servers I'm a mod of that specifically told [Member X] to go to sleep, because they never went to sleep in a proper hour. Some people started saying I was his mom after that~ *giggles*
