Maybe because the shit that I mainly read but I rarely get over 200 (a lot of the times its cuz it doesnt have 200 translated), but still there were many instances where I was reading an interesting story and just randomly drop it at 70th chapter. Again maybe its cuz of my shit taste but I dont see myself reading 2k+ like ever

I've started reading stories that go that high, they're often really good at the beginning. But I usually drop them somewhere between chapter 400-800 when they become unreadable. Highest I've ever gotten was History's Strongest Senior Brother, I dropped that in the 1100s I think.

The moment I look at a novel and see that it's ever 2000 chapters I drop it immediately unless it's actually good. 99% of them are trash novels with a plot recycled to oblivion.

I pity those who read such long novels because fhey will (almost) never drop them. I already talked about this a long time ago but I call it Shitty Xianxia Stockholm Syndrome. You keep on reading trash because if you drop it you accept that you were reading shit webnovels and wasted your precious time on them.

The best stuff seems to stop before or at most 1000. The sad reality is that thanks to the way these guys make money, they prolong it even worse than a Naruto filler.

All that said I think the highest I have read to is about 1600 chapters for one novel. But at long as It managed to hold my interest I would read to 10,000 chapters.

If Hajime no Ippo can still interest me after 1000 manga chapters, a novel sure as hell can.

TThat depends if the quality only improves and dosnt decline... i have dropped novels that goes beyond 1000 chapters where i absolutely enjoyed reading those but then it went downhill faster than a snowball.
So it really depends on the novel and the author if you go read it...

I'm guilty, the first webnovel I've read in English was Martial God Asura. Nowadays, novels with 600 chapters is way too much, for me, the ideal length of a novel is around 200 chapters..

in my first 2 years of reading chinese novels, i just kept devouring them like an infinite abyss taking everything in. i didnt care whether the novel was bad or good. i was so fascinated about cultivation and chinese novels in general to the point where the quality of the novel didnt matter to me. later on, i stopped reading harem genres as i found out the hard way how annoying they were.

i don't mind reading novels with 2k chapters actually as long as the quality is still there.heck, i would even read up to 10k chapters if i still enjoy them. although i've gotten picky in the novels i want to read ever since those first few years, i still try to finish the novels that i've started reading 5-6 years ago like ATG and MGA. i know that people call them trash, especially MGA. however, i have already read so much of them that it would be a shame not to finish reading them( I still cant believe it has been that long and these novels are still not done yet.

right now, i drop novels whenever it gets boring, have big plot holes, small plot holes in the novel accumulates and start to annoy me and many more reasons to drop them. i just dont find them worth my time if they just frustrate me.

Back when I was new to novels I liked reading novels with 1000+ chapters because I had a lot of time. Now, I'll only read something if it's less than 300 chapters because ain't potato got time to binge anymore. Adulting sucks. :blob_teary:

I do not mind a long novel, but if I can skip 50 to a 100 chapters and still understand what is going on then... it is time to drop.
