These are the types of books I like: The bolded ones are must, the others are preferred. No romance(it's okay if it's in the backseat and not really paid much attention to, but if it's the main focus then no.) No Shounen/Shoujo ai or Yaoi/Yuri(just not my thing) Preferably male MC, FMC must not have a clumsy or cutesy personality(not a fluff person) I really like world building, but not whole chapters of non-stop explainations. I kinda like those troupe's where the MC is revered by others around him(could be in a good way or bad way) No harem(no multiple love interests, no girls bossing him around and the other way with guys.) No pussy MC, he can't be average(like I mean I guess he can call himself that, but he's not.) I like isekai(especially transmigration to novel) Friendship, kinship, bromance. MC can't be a forever loner MC that doesn't help everyone he sees, like he's willing to think of himself first. Kinda dark story, like Horror, Psychological thriller, even Trajedy. Not completely light hearted. WHile I'm not a fan of lightheartedness I still enjoy comedy and can stand joking around. Cliched novels are out. (Unless they make it unique(still no harem)) - Harem/WimpyJapanese Novels where MC is sooo dense and he keeps gettng saved by his harem. - Chinese Novels that MC becomes OP out of nowhere and is an arrogant jerk. - Korean Novels with no personality in characters and a messed up plot. Reincarnation Of The Strongest Sword God it's got like no romance, nothing gay, mc is male, its got a decent amount of world building but its mainly just mc trying to get op using his knowledge, he is definitely revered as he is the guild leader of the fastest rising guild and considered one of the experts of the game, there is no harem cause mc is too focused on getting strong to care about relationships, mc is def not a pussy, its a game novel which is kinda close to isekai, mc does have friends and family he cares about but they are just background characters, everything mc does is to make himself or his guild stronger or to help those close to him, you might consider the fact he was betrayed by his guild as a tragedy, it's a Korean novel but the story and characters are at least decent and while I wouldn't call mc smart he at least uses his past lifes knowledge to his advantage
