Question Novel Updates for originals?

    And exactly THAT is my point. You (and pretty much most of us) don't bother with novels that have low ratings.
    NU doesn't have a bunch of 5-6 auditors that decide whether a story is worthy or not.
    The story is published/written in it's COO (CN, JP, KR, ...) and said 100+ people rate it depending on whether they like it or not.

    Then some translators pick stories they are interested in out of those that have been recommended.
    Again, this are not just 5-6 translators, there are 100+ translators picking from the best rated stories because they (as well) don't bother with those that have low ratings.

    And THEN people on NU decide whether they like the story/translation or not.
    After which you pick some stories that have good enough ratings and enjoy your reading.

    The whole process involves recommendations and ratings on every level.

    If you did not have all that and instead had a directory for ALL original novels, you'd have a few hundred times as many novels than NU.
    And most of those would just be a waste of time.

    Your point is, that there would surely be someone to recommend the good novels.
    My point is, that this someone just doesn't have enough time to get to the good stuff because of all the crap blocking the way.

    For originals, you are looking at Goodreads.
    For the novels you are used to, you are looking at RoyalRoad although it's not a directory.
    Likewise, there is Scribble Hub and the site from webnovel.

    Goodreads is what you are actually looking for since it will have anything that has actually been published, but a ot of the original stories we are used to reading haven't been completed or published, so there is that.

    There doesn't seem to be anything like that. I'd be really happy if there was though.
