The best way to describe Sansui, Suiboku, and other sages is that they are like Buddhist monks that have reached enlightenment. As such they have zero or very little worldly desires. Sansui's only worldly desire is Rain's well being.

The best part of the novel are the character relationship and dynamics. This novel has multiple reincarnated individuals at the same time with different experiences in this world.

 

I feel the same. However some people ignore that point. One of them said that Sansui could find another job with his power even though his employer already provided the best environment for Rain. Food, education, and bed on par with a noble's daughter.
