Suddenly want to read a cultivation novel since i know itll last for a while since japanese webnovels usually dont have translations past 200 to 300 chapters~ Any recommendations for new cultivation novels?
Great A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality Demon’s Diary World of Cultivation Coiling Dragon (Western fantasy) Reverend Insanity (Not exactly Xianxia but great MC) Good Divine Throne of Primordial Blood (MC pioneers the cultivation system) The Desolate Era Okay I Shall Seal the Heavens (I think it is overrated) Martial World
Thanks Also quick question, heard a lot of people praising Reverend Insanity but is it really that good?
Bruh read the first 30 chapters and decide for yourself. It's really good if you don't abhor an evil Mc.
+1 for Divine Throne of Primordial Blood Ze Tian Ji An endearing protagonist, decent romance (power couple, though only on the later chapters), non-one-dimensional recurring characters, actual plot and foreshadowing that shows that the author isn't just winging it, unlike a lot of cultivation novels, and it's fully translated. Cultivation Chat Group You probably already read this, but if you haven't, then I recommend you immediately check it out. It's a cultivation novel set in a modern setting that focuses on comedy, and damn did I laugh quite a bit in this novel. I personally think it has the most lovable characters in any cultivation novel I've read so far. It's completely translated, too. Tales of Herding Gods. A cultivation novel about a kid who ventures out into the world, apart from the "grandpas and grandma" who raised him when he was still an infant. This has no stereotypical arrogant young masters, face-slapping, etc. It's about the growth of a kid as he matures into a man with responsibility. It's a fresh reading experience. A brand new cultivation concept that incorporates the raising of insects, a protagonist who's not self-righteous and would do whatever it takes to reach his goal of immortality. But I think it got banned in China, so the author won't be able to update.
Legend of the great saint History number one founder ER Gen (all stories except world worth protecting) Zhu Xian Plundering the Heavens World of Cultivation Those are what i can remember. Reverend Insanity has good writing as long as you could stomach a really evil MC sometime pointlessly
It's just different in that the protagonist doesn't give a damn about anyone else and gets stuff done in clever ways. You can also read the manhwa version, might be faster. https://mangakakalot.com/read-jn4el158504833509 There's one part in the story where his twin brother actually has a "Power of Friendship" moment Spoiler where he gets up from the ground after being all defeated to fight his brother in a tournament. Really reminds you of a typical shounen hero, right? Unfortunately, he loses three seconds later when Fang Hua punches him in the face. Very anti-climatic. But also hilarious, and one ingenious way to overturn that trope.
Imagine you are Fang Yuan. You were a Grand Rank 6 Gu Immortal and your soul somehow went back in time into your 16 year old Rank 1 body. You have more than 500+ Years of Wisdom and memories of future events. You have no bottom line and will do whatever it takes to achieve your goal. You still fucking died by like chapter 200. But it doesn't matter, the heart of a demon never has regret even in death.
