Not only that, Rodcorte probably wouldn't be able to do anything even if he had power over Van's soul on account of Vida's going to stop him until Van revives himself or he becomes a god.
It must also be taken into account that unlike basically any normal living being, Vandeliu can remove his soul from his body without too many problems, so even if he dies or becomes undead and is defeated, the soul can go out and fight, Van it's like a video game boss with three phases
Keep in mind that Rodcorte is basically the god most specialized in souls after death, so he honestly believes and may actually be able to do something to Van, should he be killed. However, he has been wrong about Van's capabilities multiple times, so there's also a good chance he couldn't. Also, there's a decent chance Van could not die again, so we could never actually know what would happen. Though, it is Van, so maybe he would die and figure out some way to fully resurrect himself after becoming undead, proving that Rodcorte can't do anything to him after he dies. With how he made undead able to have children and already revived his mother, something like that wouldn't surprise me.
actually he has options options, but not perfect, he could do what Arda does and his faction to bring spirits to the divine kingdom to make them heroic spirits, because the only reason he is supposed to get them out of the system is to avoid an error, but it must be taken into account whether or not he can steal a soul from the VIda system as she does with hers, also even if she does it, Vandeliu's soul will resist if or if, which could cause her pain that in the worst case it prevents you from doing it, this option would leave it as a 50/50. his second option is to create a corrosive of the spiritual form as is holy water, but that has two drawbacks, one, it must be something that can work in Lambda, two, it must be created in enough quantity to count to subtract all the mana Van, so while effective, it all depends on Robcor's time and resources
I think Rodcorte don't have any power on Van soul: 1) Van sould now should belong to Vida reincarnation circle, not Rodcorte. 2) Van is death mage, so he have some power to control souls too. 3) Van now is not normal mortal, but demigod. If he die he will be god? Can Rodcorte control soul of god? If I remember right a demigod is god with body in mortal world, so if here are no body he is a god?
While those are some convincing points, don't forget that Rodcorte is probably the strongest of the gods we've seen in terms of raw power. He has no fighting experience, so he'd probably lose to Alda in a fight, but in sheer belief and power, Rodcorte wins. Also, dealing with souls is his very specific specialty that he is good at. Even with all those negative points making it difficult, if he put in a lot of effort and was paying attention when Van died, there's probably quite a few things he could do to deal with the soul, or at least harm Van in some way. To put in perspective just how strong he is, he would have fairly easily been able to take the 8th Guidance's souls and overpower Zuruwarn and Ricklent, two of the major gods of Lambda (although not in perfect condition) had he not been completely surprised by them attacking him, and his very large lack of combat experience and pain tolerance. While he's still lacking combat experience and pain tolerance, he would likely expect Van to try something, and he really wants Van gone, so he'd go all-out to deal with Van's soul should his body die. Note, this still doesn't guarantee that he would be able to get rid of him, but Rod would have a fairly decent shot at being able to at least do something. However, he may need to get lucky and either be watching Van through somebody's eyes when he dies, or have one of the reincarnated individuals be the cause of Van's death so they could contact him. Since Van's in Vida's system, there may not be a different way for Rodcorte to actually know Van died super easily, so if some monster or God not in contact with him is the cause of Van's death, he would probably not notice before Van could become an undead or resurrect in some way, getting him too far from Rodcorte's authority. Note that this entire discussion is about Van dying, though, and judging by the title of the novel and how strong Van has become, there's a decent chance that this entire chat will remain as speculation that could be written in many different ways, since he just won't die.
If he was the strongest he got just go down and kill Van himself and don't wait for him to die. Also, your writing only apply to first two lines of list. But if Van is a god his soul is a soul of god. If Rodcorte could summon souls of gods he could just go and summon all gods of Lambda to his realm and kill who he don't like. But he can't summon souls of gods, so even if Van die he will not able to summon Van soul to his real and Van soul will stay in Lambda. But the strongest of all gods are author of novel so he can do anything he wants. He can make Van invulnerable to Rodcorte power even if Van die, or he can make Van somehow escape from Rodcorte. But we all know no one can destroy Van, because he is MC.
Hajime isn't stupid... not anymore at least. He's just a meat puppet for Fitun who's probably using Natania's former party as future cannon fodder. He's been spoiling for a fight since he was first introduced, and seems the type to think it would be fun to make his own version of a 'Hero Party'. That said, neither group is going to be more than soul food.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rod just assumes he would be able to take Vans soul and doesn't consider all of the possible factors that would make it much harder then normal. Or if he did think that it wasn't a guarantee that he would be able to take Van's soul but doesn't mention it because he doesn't think murakami needs to know about that.
and that's why I agree with you, the first theory depends on how long Robcorte can hold, that's why a 50/50 [ in my case it is because of their insistence to kill Van, they know that even if they are not they will win the reward, so why take risks, why not stay on the sidelines and see if Fitun even has a chance, the important thing is that Van dies not It matters when or who kills him, and they themselves know that they have no chance, in addition to being proud and selfish, they are surprised that Van does not try to put his culture or beliefs in this world or that he decides to help people or act in a way peaceful
i seem to remember that mortals dont know about the reincarnation systems and the info is erased the moment they reincarnate into the world, so any assumption about Van's soul being snatched by Rodcorte is done based on the idea that there is only one pace for his soul to go
I think it is second choice. We all know how greedy Rod is. He made such big commotion just because Lambda gods took few souls and took some back the moment they died. But how many souls Vidas reincarnation circle took from his? But he not got even one back after thousands of years. It shows he can't take souls from Vidas reincarnation circle and Van is in Vidas reincarnation circle.
It's probably not that it can't be done. It's just that no one have even bothered trying to make a ritual converting members of vidas races into humans/dwarfs/elfs. Most of the gods of Lambda only see Vidas races as monsters. And even if Rodcorte could make one, he have no way to distribute it to the people of Lambda. Rodcorte is also looking for a way to accept the members of Vidas races without a monster heritage (no rank) into his system. So It can most likely be done, it's just that no party had an insentive to do so before. The one good thing Heinz have done is make Alda question if he can allow parts of Vidas races survive and become a part of rodcortes system.
If he wants to deal with the both of them definetly then he should face Murakami first, because he is the most sleepery one, if he face Hajime once he is done with him, murakami group will run away if they notice he is not weak enough to be dealt with then, but if he face Murakami first no matter how he comes out of the outcome he will still facing Hajime here and now.
