I want a series where the female lead isn't that annoying, blushing maiden at every nice comment, kind of girl. It would be nice for once to have a female lead who flirts back, or fights side by side the romantic interest or is just generally equal to him in some way. I'm mainly talking about those novels that have those eccentric and unnecessarily long titles like Demon Wang's Favourite Golden Fei or Alluring Poison Consort: Overwhelms the Demonic King and all that, but minus the 200+ chapters it takes for them to even kiss or confess. I like fast paced romance, where they really do love each other on an equal level and know they like each other early on and spend the rest of the novel working together or just being generally being heartwarming, horny little love birds and beating up their enemies together like the Lord intended. In general anything with a cute romance that isn't too long (I'm looking at you Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss, you scarred me) and the female lead actually likes the guy and flirts back, then I'm happy. (Considering what I'm asking I doubt it'll come up but no harems)

About Demon Wang's Favourite Golden Fei: but the MC is as strong as the male lead (not even counting poison abilities and imunity) and has about equal authority- she is the leader of a powerful assassination/poison sect that she also turned into the best business corporation in jianghu. Generally just doesn't give a fuck and toys with the idiots that try to attack her by getting them to fight amongst themselves. While MC does act like a shy maiden sometimes, she and the make lead flirt a lot and is one of the highlights of the story.
My mistake, but I gave up after a while with it. They were so slow about everything and their romance was adorable but goddamn the author could write slower than a turtle with an Adderall addiction.
