We all know that China excels in long cultivation novels, Japan in reincarnation/summoned to another world novels, and Korea in (gaming) System/Dungeon novels

    What are other countries' specialties?
Did I miss any for the three above (like the FMC dynasty trope in China)?

Are we talking about novel only or can it be anything else like movies?
My country didn't have a market for our own webnovel so it's hard say

Dunno what scope you have in mind, the stuff on NU will be fairly limited/confined by the genres that people already know about. If extended out to other art mediums and history, there's a whole ton of interesting genres/movements that flourished somewhere or other for a bit of time.

I don't know if it counts, but my country, India, specializes in languages. India is a colection of around 30 states, almost each speaking it's its own language. With some repeats, that comes to about 15-18 languages. So unlike other countries that have 1 language and few specialized tropes, India has loads of languages. As for specialized trope, I think it would be Realism with emphasis on discrimination in some form, religious or social. Of course, the reason why discrimination is heavily emphasized here is due to local politics being a big part of "intellectual" authors life.

India generally a specialist in mother-in-law dramas, shitty cartoons, and Movie industry for money laundering. But we have good authors.

Hmm no specialty in my country. We don’t have that big a market. Maybe the same as America? Since we all speak English after all.

Mostly novel related, but other fictional media related things too, like movies and series or folklore
I have a bigger scope in mind
Sure, no matter where, there will be written great and diverse stories with all kinds of genres; but what genre or trope do you immediatly associate with a country or region?

A new example would be criminal police movies and novels, which I would set as a scandinavian (Swedish) specialty. Not exclusive to them, but still something they are known for outside their country.

Didn't mean to suggest it was all similar, just that there's a lot of different movements and genres to possibly talk about. I'd also mention that sometimes prominent genres/styles can go out of fashion. There's lots of great dance driven American film musicals from around the 1930s-1950s, but around the 1960s they're a lot less common, whereas the Indian film industry has always had sustained a strong musical component to most of its films.

I'm a bit more familiar with film things, in addition to the stuff mentioned offhand I'd say the classic American studio system is famous for a number of genres, Silent slapstick comedy like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Harold Lloyd, a lot of classic horror though sometimes from older literature got a lot of its most iconic representation in the 30s and 40s , Screwball comedies with their rapid fire jokes, and film noir (rooted in the hard boiled detective literature which I think is also fairly unique).

French Poetic Realist films of the 1930s have a really unique atmosphere, a bit of a pre-cursor to later film noir.

Czech animation and surrealism is super imaginative and fun.

Hong Kong action films, especially between the 60s and 90s are some of the best ever filmed, it remains to be seen if all the techniques will stick around after the old generation stops making films.

Japanese dramas especially from the 1930s - 1950s are just some of the most masterful plays of subtle emotional interactions you'll find anywhere.

These are just a handful of favorites, but of course there's a lot more out there both in film and other mediums.

I'd say that, aside from unique works like wuxia, China's most prominent specialty is actually the historical novel. I love this genre, and it's basically impossible to find the equal in other languages. It's a shame that more of them aren't translated.

The most prominent American genre is probably science fiction. It wasn't born in the US, but it certainly was popularized there, with figures like Hugo Gernsback and sheer number of famous science fiction writers clustered around New York City from the '20s to the '40s.

hmmm a main element huh... well I do recall reading a couple of novels based on the civil war we had about 40(?) years ago, some about the folklore and the ways of life of the general people and so on, on the ways of life of the general people there was a really magnificent author, he was more or less a comedian but his poetry is really nice, which is sad cause very few do know of him here at this point in time and even though many shitty authors are sung about in schools and the likes he's not... even though he technically was kinda famous due to his radio program, on his end, he was murdered in the civil war previously mentioned if I recall correctly, most of the literary stuff you hear of in this country is likely linked to that civil war too

for novel this cat country have no speciality~ why? cuz the interest to read book on general is damn low~ it is really hard for being an author on this cat country~ if must insist then maybe religion romance drama that bombarded novel section back then cuz such theme was success transform into movie medium with relatively good reception both from audience and critique~ for novel da genre mainly romance and young adult oriented heavily influenced from westerners idea~ sometime it pick theme clash among western culture value and local culture value albeit it rare one~
as for media.... just search Dangdut~ there music group declare it as music of this cat country~ on deep thought yup it is~
