When you read MTL for long enough, your real time mental editing skills become something else. Sometimes what I read in the MTL is completely different to what is actually written. It's like the necessary grammar and substitution are automatically happening as I read. It's almost like a superpower.
I also mostly use Google's page translator, makes reading in browser easier.

No, it’s not cleaned MTL nor is it like novelupdates. It’s just MTL and I’m pretty sure it’s done with Google Translate

My main tool for MTL personally and for editing is Google Translate. Some of the other translators use DeepL and PasteBin(?), which I haven't studied yet.
Depending on the quality from directly pasting into Google Translate, I might choose to directly read/skim through the translated version (which I've only done for one novel) or read from the pinyin that displays (what I primarily do for my edits).

Don't do mtl. It will break you. I've tried those "mtl friendly" novels as stated from reviews, and it's still crap.

I was ready to fight because I am against MTL-ing if you really want to learn proper English grammar structure. I have to chill and relax because this thread is very informative. I am still not MTL-ing.:whistle:

Thanks for recommending Zhuyin! I'll have to check it out~ I learned traditional Chinese and zhuyin in Chinese school (Taiwanese school) but had to forcibly switch to simplified and pinyin when I took a course in uni.

For Pleco, you can download an android emulator like Bluestacks and use it on your computer! I downloaded it and it's saved me quite a bit. I like Pleco more than MDBG but both are useful.
