Recommendations Politics!! Scheming!! Let's put the MC's brain into a good use!

Allo people! I'm currently looking for novels with lots of politickings, schemings and failed schemes. I don't want the MC to have it easy; there need to be a continuous tension, and preferably parts where the MC fails epically!
Romance? Yuri? BL? Harem? bring it on. But please, no MC who overly rely on their love interest/system/shifu and got their problem magically "done".


I've read The Grandmaster Strategist, Rakuin no Monshou, Lord of Mysteries, Nirvana In Fire, Joy of Life, Death Sutra, Omniscient Reader VP, and has quite enjoy them~.

I'd recommend the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage. Shes really smart, and 95% of the time, she gets out of situations with her wit and determination. The translation can be a bit iffy, especially in the beginning before she got an editor, but its complete and honestly one of my favorite novels I've ever read. It's a slow burn. The ML is there, but he's trying to figure out what the MC is planning. Most of the time, he's like 2 steps behind her.

I also wanted to add, there is a r*pe scene, that does not happen to our MC, but she doesn't feel bad about it either.

I think it's actually because he want to safe Ninim and living leisurely without having her facing the discrimination towards Fulham people

which is one of the element that make this novel interesting. He didn't just fail from scheming and achieved rain of fortune but he actually use his head and try to scheme his way to gain the most benefit.

You won't be bored too because the other character isn't some joke character with head of airbags but they also interact properly and add more fun to the novel.

This novel has many political aspect, a little bit of military strategy and I dare say that the way the author put the plot together is fresh and make your heart race

Just read it if you don't believe me!

I'm currently reading this, but i'm stuck at around 200 chapters from the latest update. The tension have dissipate and he got too many op friends now . But i guess i'll be picking it up again.

Yeah, i love this! Its first arc is such a page turner . I'm currently debating whether to continue to read the 2nd part

Hail the King - tbh my favorite novel, less politics/scheming and more cultivation/action in this one though, so let it be known.
Release that Witch - classic, you prob know it, political kingdom building
The Trash of the Count's Family - classic, you prob know it just like RTW ^, but its politics and lots of scheming
The Legendary Mechanic - cultivation with some politics and scheming, if you dont like Hail the King you wont like this

 

I've read RtW and is currently reading The Trash Count As for Hail the King and Legendary Mechanics, i've been meaning to start it but keep hesitating because of the mixed reviews. I'll put this on my read list, though! Thanks a lot~

I dropped The Legendary Mechanic midway because I got bored, but it was pretty good like a 3.5/5. Hail the King though I really liked and its like 4.25/5 imo, def worth a try, better in ch 300-800, decent start and ok end

 

i cant remember what the red wedding arc was about but im sure ur talking about volume 3 when things were going way slow for the novel
it becomes breathtaking around 4 th novel on, full steam ahead. Please do try it again, push forward and ull love it
