I think it's because Alexandro pretty much dragged Chris all the way out there for Chloe who is a maid and Chris is just like uhh okay? We're here for your maid...you wanna marry my servant then? That's how i understood it.
Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 24 Chloe quickly went to the people in charge of the cooking. They would know better of the Grand Duke's taste. She was puzzled why they would make this mistake but everyone makes mistakes sometimes. 'No, he ate duck meat before. Maybe the cooking method has changed?' She just wwanted to serve him well as he did for her. =================================== They were off to the fourth manor which was Duke of Johann Carlsberg (Duncan's uncle was Duke of Johannesburg. Chloe is lost in her own thoughts about girls getting married off and Heidi. In comes Alexandro. Alexandro: "What are you thinking so hard about?" Chloe: "Nothing, the weather is really nice". Alexandro noticed her being awkward. Whatever she was thinking was not bright. He pretended to not notice. Alexandro: "are you worried?" Normally he was able to resolve whatever worries she had. Chloe: "No". Alexandro: 'Hurry" Alexandro: "Is there any reason you're delaying your answers to me?" Chloe: "No, just I'm a little tired" Alexandro: "Are you sick?" Chloe: "No, do not worry". Chloe smiled at him as he was worried. Alexandro: "Okay, so it's like that". Alexandro felt very dry. He didn't have any close female relatives or friends. Woman are delicate and sensitive so rather than ask anything, take care of them. He only learned in writing how to be considerate. Don't ask anymore. It was clear she didn't want to talk. He became more worried and looked closer at Chloe. He hasn't been drinking since being in the barracks with her. Even if he didn't drink, he didn't bother falling asleep anymore. He enjoyed when he opened his eyes in the morning seeing her still sleeping. Under her little nose, her lips were visible. She always fell asleep with her lips wide open. He bursted in to laughter. 'Is there another woman who falls asleep so fast in the world?' Whether she was happy or not, she always fell asleep comfortably. She seemed to live evry day without worry. In fact, Alexandro wanted to touch her hand or lips at least once when she was asleep. But he never touched her without knowing as she shared the same sleeping space and confided in him so Alexandro wanted to respect that. After all, Chloe did trust Alexandro. He wanted to be a better person. Chloe: "Is it far?" Alexandro: "No, we will be there soon". Chloe was excited. They soon saw the peacock's castle. It is the oldest family in the Empire. The village was also more organized and clean. Chloe: "Wow the town is completely festive" Alexandro: "Do you want to go?" Chloe nodding around the town and quickly nodded at his words. Chloe: "Yeah!" When he heard her positive answer, he quiestly smiled. Alexandro: "Let's come at night" Chloe was thrilled. They reached the castle and meet the guards and the Carlsberg family. There was not much traffic but there was a special relationship between Duke Carlsberg and Alexandro. They were escorted into to their rooms but once Alexandro entered, he quickly turned around told Chloe to go to town on her own with Trigger and the maid. He gave her some pocket money and sent her on her way. He had some matters to attend to.
I kinda confused with the Wyler-Heidi part. Did Wyler bully Heidi? Eniwe I’m glad Wyler’s gone now. Thank you for the chapter update, @bruh123 ! They seems closer and closer. I’m waiting for the next chapters!
Wyler didn't bully Heidi. Alexandro made it up because he didn't want Chloe knowing he was a spy for Duncan. Since Heidi is Wyler's maid, Heidi was probably his accomplice too.
Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 25 The peasant's maid looked worried about Alexandro but Chloe did not look back at him. Alexandro frowned and hurried back to his bedroom. "Hooooo......." He was annoyed. An unexpected and unwelcome guest ruined his plans to go with Chloe. He opened his bedroom door and said "Come out now". As expected, Clara trembled in his unsightly voice. Lying on his bed in a betwitching posture, she rose from her seat. Clara: "It's been a long time Alexandro". Clara's provacative words calloing his name unstoppably made Alexandro unhappy. Alexandro: "You're out of your mind". Only his father dared call him that. Clara: "Isn't this okay while engaged?" Alexandro: "Who knows you're here?" Alexandro was not in the mood to deal with her bullshit. Clara: "Your father and my parents know" Even if he secretly killed her, the Duke of Bandoras knew that Clara was here and it would spread to the families. After a little while, he sighed. He didn't want Clara in his bedroom. Alexandro: "I warned you that I would not treat you as a woman again. You ignored my words". He approached her and Clara trembled. He was angry and looked like he was about to hit her. He threw her out of the room. Alexandro: "Go and tell your father we are not doing a political marriage" (I think this is translated correctly) Clara: "I have nothing to do with my father!" At the moment, Alexandro felt stiff. Wouldn't it just be a good idea to step back and say you didn;t want this? He was unwilling to treat a woman this way no matter who she was. He pushed Clara out as if he was taking off a leech. Clara: "I like you, please marry me" Alexandro: "Marriage is not to be with just anyone" Clara: "I can give birth to a son who will suceed the Graham's family heir!" Alexandro jumped for a moment in her blind eyes. It was like talking to a wall. He had never seen a woman so persistent and terrifying look. 'Are you crazy woman?' He never heard any rumors or stories about her. In fact, she was a celebrity recongized by the social community. She was famous for her position and beauty. Clara: "You can hit me again like you did before" (This girl likes it clearly) Alexandro: "Stop" Clara: "Is something wrong with me?" He decided to take a different approach with Clara. He couldn't kill her anyway. Alexandro: "You're bothering me" Clara: "But I really want to.....I love you" Alexandro made a sound. Clara: "I'm serious!" Alexandro: "Are you going to continue pestering me? If you sincerely love me, you should respect my opinion (calls her some name)" At the moment, she was startled by the fact that he never even knew her name. Alexandro never really remembered her name. Clara: "It's Clara, Clara Bandoras" Alexandro: "I don't want to know your name. There's nothing I want to know about you" His cruel words stuck to Clara like a dagger but it wasn't over. Alexandro: "I;m only talking to you because I don't want to see youa gain". Clara's spirit wasn't shattered. Clara: "It was a success if you were trying to make me uneasy on purpose but you can stop now". Alexandro: "Don't speak". The mood was different now. Alexandro: "The reason I don;t want to kill you is because I don't want to start a war. Clara jumped, there were many reasons why she liked him. Clara: "Do you love someone else?" In fact, Clara has not heard anyone say rumors related to Alexandro but that's only because the people around who knew Clara's pride dare not tell her. Alexandro had no answer to her question. Clara was anxious. What if he answers yes? Clara: "It doesn't matter, all I want is you but if you don't like it, you can just give me a baby " Alexandro got really angry. Alexandro: "Your child will not be loved by your parents and you want to give birth?" Clara couldn't understand why he was so angry. She had goosebumps. It was as if he was looking at dirt. Alexandro: "I am sorry for the child who will suffer because of your greed!" Clara trembled and Alexandro grabbed her neck and lifted her up. Alexandro: "Listen clearly, I will never have any children. She was gagging. Her face became rose red. Footsteps were heard, it was clear they were headed towards his bedroom. There were three voices that he heard with his sensitive ears. How much he was trying to be so close with Chloe. He sighed and closed his eyes and came back to his senses. Clara was dying right before his eyes, if they find her, it will be trouble. He released Clara. He didn't want Chloe to see this ugly side of him even with Wiler, he instinctively lied. He couldn't help it. Chloe was a good woman who loved animals and enjoyed helping others and grazeing in the mountains while I was on the battlefield since childhood. Alexandro felt self defeated. Why are you such a human? There was nothing Alexandro could tell Chloe proudly. Empire hero? Trampling her country and unifying the contintent. Pathetic. He would rather be a farmer. Now, he didn't know what to do. There is only his bedroom in the hallway. Chloe's cheerful words and voice was getitng louder and louder. "I am very lucky to have someone like our Grand Duke" Then he heard her little laugh.
Trying my best to translate it where everyone can understand it...so if anythings off - don't hesitate to ask because some of the chapters, I have a hard time understanding at first and then after I finish, I somewhat get it...lol
Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 26 Alexandro panicked. He could never show Clara to her. Clara was insane. He lifted her up and shooed her out quickly just in time where Chloe, Trigger and the peacock's handmaiden appeared. Chloe laughed as she stood in the hallway. He always responded with laughter but Alexandro couldn't meet her eyes. He himself did not know why but his face was stained with guilt. ============================== Eventually, Trigger, Chloe and the handmaiden was sent back to the village. Alexandro and the Duke of Carlsberg have a conversation about why Duke of Carlsberg left the capital, how he's sick of politics. etc. and basically catching up. ================================ The three were at the festival and went to bookstores, gambled, basically enjoyed their time. Chloe spent all her money and bumped into a beautiful girl.
Whys this dude like abusing women so much And I wouldnt call chloe a good person either. Shes heen abused so much that shes kind of non threatening. Like someone broken There are no good people I'm this novel
Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 27 Chloe was now back in the bedroom. Alexandro still had a bad expression. Chloe: "What are you doing?" She asked with a worried face first. Alexandro: "It's nothing" He took her hand and brought her in. The atmosphere was different than usual. Alexandro was worried that Chloe had met Clara. The corridor outside the bedroom is only one way. What is Chloe misunderstands why that young girl came out of his bedroom? After dinner, Clara appeared in his bedroom again. (I think this is before Chloe comes back). Clara was extremely persistent. He told Clara firmly he would never go back to the capital and never intedned to have a child. He told her he knows a man that would go well with her, how about you meet with him just once? Clara: "But I...." Alexandro: "If he doesn't like you, I'll reconsider" Eventually, this trick worked on Clara. He wasn't considering Clara but another man who would suit Clara. He sent Clara on her way. Chloe came in immediately after sending her. It was clear the two met, how should I explain this? Chloe: "Are you oaky? She looked worried and asked him. When he looked at her innocent face, he felt strange. If she asks about Clara and finds out...maybe...are you jealous? His emotions were all mixed up. The best thing is that she doesn't know about Clara but if she asks, he will tell her. Chloe: "Uhh....I used up all the money you gave me" Alexandro needed a moment to realize what hse was talking about. Alexandro: "What money?" Chloe: "The money you gave me...." It took him a moment but he didn't care about the money. Alexandro: "Is there anything else you want to say?" He really wnated the truth. Chloe closed her eyes and said "Actually, I lost everything on the gambling board" Alexnadro felt ruined. The thing he wanted to hear was not that. His heart was stuff. Arent' you curious about the girl you met in the hallway? The girl that apparently came out of my bedroom was with me? He swallowed his saliva. He tried to clam his mind. Alexandro: ".....There must have been rude people in the gambling hall. Are you hurt?" His words were sweet. Chloe seemed to have tears. She used up all the money given by her master. Chloe: "I'm sorry'. He quickly comforted her. She smiled again. Alexandro: "Did you encounter someone in the hallway?" Chloe: "Ah yes, I saw a very beautiful person". Clara looked like a lady who was so quiet and graceful. Chloe didn't question it. 'Why is that?' Alexnadro felt increasingly miserable as her silence increased. '.......what did i expect?' Chloe didn't seem to be curious about her relationship with Clara. His chest throbbed. She was worried because she couldn't find anything to say while watching his expression of the Grand Duke become increasingly disappointed. "Ah!" The Duke was probably sleeping in his bedroom and the woman came out of his bedroom and he doesn't like when people enter his bedroom. Chloe: "Did she enter the master's bedroom?" He was waiting for this questkon but.....something was different from the jealously he was hoping for. Chloe was blabbering and speaking gibberish. Is this the right reaction? Chloe: "Are you okay?" Alexandro felt something strange. 'What else am I not okay with?' 'Why wasn't Chloe jealous?' He felt that her reaction was a little different than what he expected. ================================ Alexandro fell asleep with a complicated feeling and looked at Chloe who fell asleep with a calm face. She was so comfortable. Alexandro looked at the ceiling. Morning then came around.

Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 28 Chloe was helping Alexandro shave. Alexandro was watching her through the mirror, put down the razor blade she was holding. Alexandro: "Have you ever liked someone?" Chloe hesitated in answering. Chloe: "Why do you ask?" Alexandro: "Is there anyone else you care about besides your husband?" There was a sudden change of mood. Chloe was at a loss for words. Chloe: "My husband...I never liked him" Alexandro: "So who did you like? Do you still remember him?" Alexandro asked very urgently. Chloe decided to answer honestly. She couldn't tell a lie to a question whose purpose was unknown. Chloe sat down in a chair. Alexandro wanted a detailed story but Chloe was amazed at his unexpected action and tried to get up. However, Alexandro held both handles of the chair to prevent Chloe from getting up. He actually pulled the chair closer to him and Chloe's legs were close enough to touch his knees. Chloe dared not to get up and sat down. Alexandro frowned and said "Tell me more" Chloe: "What....what?" Alexandro: "You still like him? Chloe: "No" Alexandro: "Are you thinking about him? Do you miss him?" Chloe never said anything of that nature. Chloe: "Just...." She remembered her difficult marriage with Gilbert. She never heard the Grand Duke speak so urgently. He was too close and she couldn't escape, she was embarassed as if being interrogated. Chloe: "Sometimes I think..." Alexandro: "What was his love like?" It was the first time Alexandro had such a grim attitude toward her and Chloe became nervous. At the moment, the unpleasant words of the fortune teller passed through his head. Alexandro: "Answer me". His heart was pounding and it was not a pleasant throbbing. This emotion was unfamiliar and it was very unpleasant. Alexandro: "Right now" 'Why don't you care about me one bit? How can you think of another man?' Chloe was with him all day, every hour. He was very upset. Alexandro: "Do you like Trigger?" Chloe: "No" Trigger was a handsome and cute young man. Alexandro: "So why do you always look for him?" Trigger was comfortable to be around but Chloe didn't want to recklessly say he was gay because that was an invasion of privacy. Even the Grand Duke was gay. Chloe turned her head away but Alexandro reached out and grabbed her face to turn towards him. Alexandro: "Don't avoid me" Chloe: "Why are you doing this?" He never acted like this. The hand holding the chin didn't seem to have much power but she couldn't escape. It was difficult to make eye contact but more frightening to avoid. Chloe was saved by Evan. "Sir it's Evan" 'Why are you shaving me? You're driving me crazy" As he looked back, Chloe got up and cleaned up the razor blades and soapy water he had dropped. Alexandro closed the bedroom door and went out into the hallway. Evan: "I did what you said. But Leo suddenly wondered what was going on". (Leo is the red head guy) Basically, Alexandro is trying to fix Clara up with some guy named Leo. Leo was a knight. It was the right time for him to get married. However, due to his personality, he could not propose to anyone young. Alexandro thought they were a good fit so he decided to introduce them. Alexandro came back into the room and sat next to Chloe. Maybe he was joking, Chloe though desparately. Chloe got back to shaving Alexandro. She was extremely focused but unfortunately, she cut him by accident. She freaked out and kept apoligzing but Alexandro couldn't help how cute she was. He felt guilty for trying to hurt her. "I shouldn't have done that" he thought. Alexandro: "It is my mistake, I was wrong". Chloe was stunned, how is that his fault? She didn't understand.
Spoiler: Volume 2: Part 29 I'm going to summarize this chapter because nothing really happened...just some filler chapter? I guess. ===================================== Trigger & Chloe are together and they talk about Clara and how beautiful she is. Chloe thought she was a fit for Alexandro. ============================ Duncan (Duke's father) visits a landfill. ============================= Duke & Chloe chat for a bit and then went out to town. A dress caught his eye and Chloe couldn't understand why he was so caught up with this dress.
