Disclaimer: I don't live in a country where owning a semi-automatic is legal. The only guns that could be considered firearms available are just bolt-actions and revolvers.

So, this pretty means that I do not have much experience with firearms or anything. But, I have asked friends who have served in the military, police force(yes, they are armed even though citizens are not and they would not hesitate to fire if there are any riots) and underground militias who have more experience than me at handling and who have experience getting shot at or hit by a bullet.

These are some of the things that I have gathered:

    1) Shooting in a range without a moving target is actually not that hard. But, in high adrenaline situation, with just a bullet or two, you might possibly miss a target even within the range of 5 meters.

    2) I know 3 person that got shot and survived, well technically two since the other just got grazed by a bullet in the head. And what they all told me is that in the moment they got shot, there actually wasn't any pain, just a scorching hot feeling. Also, the calibre of the bullet was not that low since one of them got shot by an SLR and the other two by an M16.

My question is, in Animes and novels, people who use guns find it very easy to accommodate themselves and their accuracies are extremely good with very little training. Not only that, when they hit people, especially in their torso, the authors wrote it as if it would easily stop them.

So, these tiny conflicting points, is it because of there are less subjects on my end or on the end of the authors?

Also, if you can add anything to it or explain the real situation, that would be appreciated.

It's just plot armour to make sure their favourite characters survive and look cool.

Bro, that is fiction... the same fiction where guns hv no recoil, fired bullets can curve in inconceivable ways and swords can cut *through bullets...

    Hmm just a random guess.

Maybe the instant immobilisation is when the bullet hits through bone? Or a joint?

Idk, and I don't really want to go into fire arms dynamics in anime, it's just going to ruin the fun.

Trigger discipline doesn't seem to be a thing in Manga and Anime either.

Most authors are probably just civilians with little to no actual knowledge of how guns and bullets work.

The funniest shit I've seen was a bullet with its casing still on flying out of a gun lmao.

There exists other worlds (looks at you isekai) and a highschooler makes guns over there wherein reality most people don't know the mechanism of a simple gun let alone the different types and you feel its weird there are inconsistencies.. of course... Most authors also don't know shit about firearms...
no offence but just regard fiction as fiction or you will ruin the fun

With things like Mandatory military service, shouldn't they know about it or atleast know the people they could ask about it?

Whoever told you they had mandatory military service?

Shhh... that was the new experimental US Hand Catapult next generation weapon.

Yes but let me put in a bit more perspective. In single aimed shot, 75% gets you marksmanship qualifications, 50% for SAW. Most people get <50% on stationary unmoving targets when they are using prepared rest positions. Now try that outside a range with moving targets and any ad hoc position you can find.

If you learn how human body work.
Pain receptors is located beneath the skin
OFC you feel the heat from bullet but not the pain.
Since it bypass those receptor layer

    Maybe like getting cut.
You feel nothing while it happen, then you start feeling it from the area around the cut

because, not a lot of these novels and anime place importance on technical details. or maybe it is just because the author didn't properly research it.

Looking for logic in anime? Most often when somthing dipicts something you know very well you often will find errors or an dissonance with the story.

Especially when it comes to a protagonist of a story they often have stories and traits that are simply impossible.

... but then again you get shit like Simo Hayha (who allegedly got over 500 kills while in service during WW2/Winter War), it may not sound much but thats amazing.
