Discussion it seems like qidian authors has recieved a better contract now

if anyone remembers, a while ago qidian changed their contract and imho, it felt like they were just porting over the english contract to the cn authors which caused many cn authors to "protests"

now i just saw this and i think these are the changes that have been made

i'm not sure if this has affected the webnovel contract, but it seems like those pinoy and india authors who are okay with the contract has really fucked over everyone since WN would have probably given the english authors a much better contract...

the majority of authors on WN currently are from ph or india. this is because the USD -> their $ = alot so they don't care about anything else.

i have said before that i do not blame them for accepting the contracts and i still don't and i completely understands why they accepted the contract since they will be able to feed their entire families with the small amount they get, but this has caused WN to adopt the attitude where they think that their contracts are fine and eventually ported the english contract to CN qidian, which looks very similar to WN's contract.

the new contract which caused anger, was basically the WN's author contract imo

 

I understood a part of it. Me myself is waiting for my contract to be verified by WN. Got offered for my first book but I declined, just accepted one for my second book. I'm still nervous about being contracted. Besides my love of writing, the money really tempts me considering my current job and I'm the eldest in my family. Gotta find a way to help my dad since he's a widower.

tbh if you are not from these countries where the usd is overwhelming....it's not wise to accept such a contract esp when they can legally bankrupt you anytime they want to

or a contract to translate a novel of qidan in qidan?
