I knew that there was going to be a second wave and second quarantine. I probably should have bought more dumbbells before. All I have is a 15 lb dumbbell and 10 pounds total of a pair of ankle weights. I need at least two 35 pounds for my usual sets. I suppose I could raise my reps by 20 or 30 more in a set to approach failure.
Sorry to hear it, but because of the particularities of a gym that make it very easy to spread the virus, it should be one of the very last places to open...
The gyms closing is the main thing I dislike about the quarantine. I had finally gotten myself to go regularly 3x a week for 6 months and was finally seeing results in my weight loss. Now I'm at home with only body weight exercises and don't have the same motivation as in the gym. I hope I can start the grind again once this is all over.
There are much better ways to exercise... All for a low price of becoming a human slave of cats today!
My gym hasn't opened up since the whole lockdown thing first started but it's a chain so hopefully it should survive. Miss the weights selection but I've been getting by with a mix of resistance bands, yoga, bodyweight exercises and running at night when noone else is around. I'm cutting though and not planning to bulk at all so it doesn't affect me and you have my sympathy OP.
I train Muay thai for fitness bro.. I understand the struggle of not being able to go to the gym. I just jump rope these days and some body weight training.
Tbh, depending on where you are at...You could still be in the first wave itself. Especially if it is US.
You can fill and weigh some milk jugs for weights. Use beans or rice or water and you can get different weights.
Same. I didn't think that I would need an overpriced mat until I needed it. I had to make do with pillows :v Doing abs on my bed wasn't really that bad either tho.
I usually focus on barbell exercises like squat, deadlift, bench press, row, curls, and press. Then I use dumbbell exercises to supplement and target specific muscles. I went through 3-4 other routines before settling on this one which has worked the best for me.
try to make 10 min high intesive excercise(eg. 45 rest of exercise and 15 sec of rest without stopping for 10 min straight) in the morning(when you wake up), they should able to help you until they open the gym. Those kind of excercise are good for losing weight and are short enought to not make an exuse of skipping them because of laziness. but carefull if you have health issue like hearth problems, high blood pressure and other....you need to check by your doctor before trying to make intesive excercise....
