More Games! Geneforge 1 Spoiler this is a great series to play, and i don't remember other games like it. It's an RPG where you can create creatures to fight for you. you can customize them in certain ways so they can be different from one another. Want to command 2~3 strong monsters, or an army of them? you decide! Raptor: Call of the Shadows Spoiler another 2D space shooter. it's a very enjoyable game to play. if you want to see a little of how it's played, you can check this video. Banished Spoiler Although I don't consider this game very old (released in 2014), it's a great game. it's a city building strategy game. It can be kinda hard to manage all the citizens needs, but i have a lot of fun with it. it also has a lot of mods that you can try it.
Baldur’s Gate 2, and a Throne of Bhaal. Master of Orion 2. Xcom 1. Xcom Apoc. Fable 1, 2. (3 is unplayable) Fallout 3 Sid Meier’s Pirates Jade Empire.
My childhood is what I call the golden age of strategy games. So I'm gonna recommend some of them: Spoiler: Command and Conquer There's two C&C series that I want to recommend... C&C: Red Alert 2 and C&C: Generals Pretty much anyone who familiar with RTS already know this game. It's pretty much the staple for every young RTS player in the late 90s and 2000s alongside Age of Empire. But unlike Age of Empire, C&C are more simple and straightforward. Built base, collect resources, make troops, attack the enemy. There's no complicated features like research, multiple resources, unit cap, etc. I specifically recommend Red Alert 2 and Generals since those are the two I'm most familiar with. Spoiler: Stronghold Crusader More like a mix between castle building simulator and RTS game. This one is a bit different than the rest. Although the core is still the same. Build base, gather resources, create troop, atttack enemies. What makes it stand out from the rest is that the building base aspect is kind of more like town building type sim games complete with Happiness, Food, and Tax parameters. I definitely recommend this one for those who enjoys both RTS and sim games. Spoiler: Empire Earth I'm surprised not a lot of people recommend this one. This game is basically Age of Empire x Civilization. Although with more simplified version of both games mechanic. I especially love it when I can curb stomp my enemy with machine guns and cannons while they still rely on trebuchet and bow and arrows. Although I enjoyed this game a lot when I was a kid, I don't think this game aged well. The 3D graphic looks atrocious compared to modern standard, and the sound quality is questionable. Don't get me wrong though, the menu theme is epic and awesome but they seem to recycle a lot of the same sounds and voice acting for a lot of the units. Still, you can give it a try though. There are 2 sequel for this game. I played the 2nd, it was alright but not as good as the original in my opinion. I never played the 3rd, but I heard it's terrible.
Harvest moon friends of mineral tkwn is one of the game that everyone should try at least once in their lives. aside from Suikoden II and Baldur's Gate
@Algoz, have you played Stargunner? Spoiler Also, if you like Populous: The Beginning, you might be interested in playing Sacrifice. Spoiler
Rage of Mages - I played this game to death around 20 years ago. What I loved about the game was that mages had an incredible amount of spells. https://www.gog.com/game/rage_of_mages

Ahh, I remember this; could never get into it as a kid, because of the story's factional aspect, but liked the gameplay. Yeah, the story series for it felt like they tried to imitate pokemon (monster collecting). Wish they went another route instead. (Monster raising) -- Personally, I think they messed up trying to 'compete' with pokemon, and targeting the general age group. Should have targeted teens rather than trying to get kids+ like pokemon. Go with the raising part, and maybe add some breeding and farming. Would have catered better to pokemon fans that grow up, and wants something more. Liked the Championship one though, because that's their own game. Back to their roots sort of thing.
