@ShiraYuuKii LOL it's my first time MTLing so didn't get his thoughts on these chapters, more Lydia's view of his behavior. (Though again my MTLing may be off I'll be glad when it's officially translated) Forgive me as I've been skipping around between chapters to get the plots of story so I'm still translating in between but I'll give you my impressions so far:

Are the tears genuine? I think it's genuine that he's trying to gauge Lydia's feelings. He's always vulnerable in front of Lydia. He doesn't really care what people think of him but he does deeply care of what Lydia thinks of him. Else he wouldn't wear the pink sweater or yellow sweater round the castle .

I think he likes playing the servant persona because he finds her so fascinating and she likes the sweet side of him which actually changes him as well. You'll read other people start to note a change in his behavior. In chapters 65+ Lydia and Marr explore the city festival and it's full of sweet fluffy moments. Marr even walks around wearing some puppy ears purchased from a vendor because Lydia likes it.

And in chapter 70 he actually tells Jamie he's once he finishes his battle to quell Periland (Terrian Rebellion) he wants to step down from the throne. His thoughts there are because he wants to live the simple life that Lydia has been talking to him about. Her dreams. Lydia's happiness become priority one for him so his motivations and actions pretty much revolve around her.

Wow~ thanks for this reply! Honestly i had this mixed feelings that he does have feeling for her but his manipulative ind which wants to find about the those flowers is still there. As he at first approached her with intentions and so i had this doubt planted in me that his certain acts would be "just acting" whether to shake lydia's heart or to make lydia believe him more. But now you reply cleared it all~ thanks alot~~

 

Whew! My final summaries for the weekend...made it to what I like to call the seduction. chapters. Ch. 59-60 has a lot of flirting dialogue.

Spoiler: Chapter 56-60 Part I

Lydia and Dahlia are enjoying tea and desserts that Marr is serving them. (Well more serving Lydia) Lydia notices it awkward between Dahlia and Marr and she's not sure what to do. Dahlia tells Lydia her father is about to remarry and her new stepmother has 2 daughters. Excited she mentions she will be changing her name as well to "Ella" based of a famous glass brand. Lydia is amused wondering if Dahlia's situation will be similar to Cinderella.
Lydia apologize to Dahlia that she hasn't made it to rose castle. Internally she has been wanting too. For the past few days finding the right fruit with a strong enough scent is not as successful so Lydia has been staying up late for a few nights experimenting with creating perfume from the star flower in her bedroom secretly. She thinks her room is too small to experiment and was planning to head to Rose castle to see if they had larger rooms for her to experiment in.

The day grows late and both concubines promise to meet again as both enjoy their time. As Lydia escorts Dahlia to her carriage, Dahlia asks why does Lydia keep an arrogant and rude servant around. Lydia can't answer but then Dahlia says I know why...because of his handsome face, right! Lydia does not know how to respond and instead agrees with Dahlia who leaves.

As she returns to the Castle Marr is waiting for her as they head back in, Marr asks Lydia, '..my face.', 'so my face is handsome?' Lydia looks at Marr wondering, does he not know how good looking he is? She answers him, yes, because of his face. Marr then asks her what if it wasn't handsome, what if it was ugly would she still like him without a handsome face? Dumbfounded Lydia thinks that's an odd question and then laughs and tell Marr even if he is 'ugly' he is still Marr.

Spoiler: Chapter 56-60 Part II

The next morning Lydia awakens to see if there are frozen fruits to experiment with and heads to her warehouse. When Marr comes in, she notices something different about him and she realizes he's cut his hair and he's wearing a nice outfit. She thinks he looks so cute so she starts to run her fingertips through his hair admiring it. Marr is embarrassed.

Later in the day and both Marr and Lydia are outside in the shade under a tree. Lydia has the history book she had checked out from the library and Marr is sitting next to her with a large basket of fruit he's examining. They've been spending all morning trying to identify scents to see what would work for the 2nd task. Frustrated that they still haven't found the right fruit scent, a bored Lydia leans against the tree trunk and begins to reads the history book out loud to Marr.

(Disclaimer - my MTL might be off on this section but I hope I have the gist of it.)

The first reading tells about how the Lycans lost and vowed revenge through blood to destroy humans. Lydia is confused about this section and Marr explains through breeding. Lydia doesn't understand how this is a bad thing but Marr explains the that a Lycan-human hybrid child can contain the seed of Chaos.

(Lydia turns to look at him from reading and her eyes catches as Marr starts to unbutton a few buttons at the collar )

Marr goes onto explain the human side and lycan side blood in an offspring has difficulty mixing. If the lycan side of the offspring dominates, then they will turn wild and attack humans. Mar goes onto explains that most mixed races are born with human form (not semi-human) so they have been blending into society for ages.

M: 'When it comes to force, the Lycan is strong, and the mixed-race has taken the portion of the force, and the victim has always been a weak man. Over and over again, the mixed race gradually became uncontrollable in human blood, and Lycan tried to use him to completely destroy humans.'

A concerned Lydia asks if these hybrid Lycan descendants are still around and Marr tells he believes not anymore while as he starts to unbuttoned a few buttons at the top of his shirt.

A mesmerized Lydia thinks he looks like a runway model... "It's a little hot." Realizing she said it out loud she looks to see if Marr heard her and quickly says that it's a relief there not Lycans around but it's still dangerous meanwhile her face is getting flushed.

Marr tells her to not worried because he will protect her

Lydia's heart is a flutter as she can see little bit of his hard chest through the opening of his shirt and she doesn't know why he's affecting her so much today. Panicking she pulls up the book to her face as she's trying to find a place to focus besides the man in front of her.

Spoiler: Chapter 56-60 Part III

Marr goes on to warn Lydia hat she still needs to be wary of predator men acting wolf-like and he gives an example of the sleazy pumpkin from the ball. As he's saying this, he's slicing open some fruit violently and Lydia has to calm him down.

Lydia thinks its fascinating that Lycans have a crush on human woman and she doesn't think she would fall for a Lycan.

Marr speculates the Lycans in the past, in human form were probably beautiful that helped in the seduction. The discussion continues between the two about the Lycan attraction when finally Lydia grins and jokes with Marr to not worry she won't be attracted to Lycan if she meets one.

Marr looks and asks are you confident? Lydia joking laughs and tells him she sees he trying to flirt with her to challenge her resolve but it won't work as she is not so soft-hearted.

Marr reaches out with his wrists signaling to Lydia that he's like her to help him with his sleeves Lydia helps him pull a string to free his cuff and Marr slowly rolls up his sleeves to his elbows. Marr tells her thank you.

Lydia stares at his strong muscled arms that is exposed to the sun and is wondering why it's so hot outside even though she's in the shade. She starts to panic telling her self to look away, look away! Telling herself to calm down or else Marr will notice she's thinking strange dark things.

Then Marr leans into Lydia resting an arm against the tree hovering above her. He asks, 'How is it?'

Spoiler: Chapter 56-60 Part IV

Lydia is thinking I've seen this scene in a romance movie or drama somewhere. She blurts out well you eyes are impure causing Marr to laugh and smile.

Marr asks why is it considered impure to try to seduce someone. He tells her he doesn't smile as pretty as she does which causes Lydia to laugh as she thinks he's a radiant as a rainbow right now. Lydia notices Marr's facial express changes when he hears her laugh.

Lydia smiles and tells Marr again that she wouldn't fall to temptation but she asks why can't men use their beauty to make woman fall in love with them vs being all wolf-like.

M: '..like me?'
L: 'Yes like you! A face like your is perfect for beauty....' then she says 'BTW is the sun too hot? I think you keep getting hot. If it's getting too hot then lets go in...'

Marr interrupts her and states maybe fruit is not the answer and that there is another answer. Lydia asks what's the answer? In doing so she unconsciously grabs his free arm what is bare and looks down realizes that it's his bare skin and the muscles underneath her hands are 'firm and resilient.... ---Oh, my God, why would I ever! '

Embarrassed but determined as they don't have much time left before the 2nd task she asks again what's the other option and then she looks up.

L: ! ....when did you get this close?
M: "Forget something like a fruit. Let's go to what was said from the beginning. That's the most obvious."
L: "Oh, well, yeah? What was that?"
M: "Tempting the emperor."

(Note: Translator's heart is fluttering here too.)

Spoiler: Chapter 56-60 Part V

Lydia's doesn't think she's good at that so Marr suggest they practice to see if it would work else they can look for another answer.

Marr's face is so close to Lydia she that she is mesmerized by his red eyes she thinks they're so pretty and she has a weakness against pretty things so she agrees since it's practice and asks him how?

Marr smiles and he tells her 'beauty'. Lydia tells him that the emperor would not fall for her face when he has... Marr interrupts her telling her that she is more beautiful from her eyes to her lips than the pink haired girl (Yurishina).

Lydia's face gets even redder as she sputters out a "thank you". Then she asks how does one seduce the emperor because she would like to try.

Marr has a wicked smile as he tells her 'Really?'. Lydia tells him 'ah huh' as Marr descends and their lips touch for a kiss. (**SQUEEEEEE!!!** - yes finally the 60th chapter is the kiss!)

Lydia's head is exploding (MTL --> There was not a single thought left. I was so stunned, so stiff.... Meanwhile, the soft tongue slipped without hesitation and gently rubbed it as if it were my tip, then disappeared as if it had happened.)

Mar lifts up his head away from Lydia. She is so flushed she can't even think and asks Mar why did he do that? Marr responds twinkling innocently with two words, "Beauty, temptation."

Seeing a myriad of expressions on Lydia's flush face, Marr becomes concerned and asks she didn't like it. Lydia who has still not recovered replies no quickly and that she liked it when she sees Marr looking worried. Lydia is dying of embarrassment admitting this.

Then Marr asks if they can do it one more time!

Lydia quickly shakes her head to a much disappointed Mar and stand ups telling him she's got to look for more fruit and it's time for dinner. Marr asks her what she wants and she tells him anything without looking back and he indicates he'll make her favorite salmon steak for dinner.

A frazzled Lydia rushes into the castle away from Marr and leans her face flushed against the cold stone wall remembering their kiss and she finally admits that she likes Marr. The Marr who likes the Emperor. She questions why fate put her in this position.

I wonder how would Lydia's reaction would be when she found out Marr's identitiy. Does she feel betrayed?or the opposite, she'd accept without much fuss

Some tidbits that I didn't summarize that I thought you might be interested. I gloss over this in the early chapters but I think it's good to know as background information.

Back when Lydia is reading a book on high society etiquette because she's now having to socialize with other people after being a hermit for 3 years. One of the customs she comes across in the etiquette book is around 'feet'. Yep, 'feet' . I a double-take when I ran across it.

Section of the etiquette book Lydia was reading: (MTL below)

- In the body of a woman of high social standing, the part where is considered secret is paradoxical, this is the foot. Historians claim that it originated from the use of pretty feet as a criteria when choosing a werewolf, or a human woman, to seduce.

However, this is only a rumor that arose shortly after humans won the ancient war against Lycan. At that time, the Lycans were randomly seducing human women, so this trend was created by some scholars. However, it turned out to be a lie by aristocratic women to hide the affair. -

- This is exactly why because the feet of a woman of high status, hidden deep inside a colorful dress, are wrapped in long socks, stockings and high shoes.

For this reason, the only place where royal and aristocratic women could easily show their feet was their own house, but even the father could not see their bare feet. Just an observation - I like the author's theme around flowers for instance the main driving flower.

• The concubine's castles are named after some flower.
• Lilly Castle = Lydia
• Tulip Castle = Yurishina
• Rose Castle = Dahlia

I haven't run across the other concubine castles yet but i'm assuming their castles are named after a type of flower as well .

• Sun Castle (Imperial Palace) = Emperor's

So all the concubine flower castles revolves around the sun.

This weekend should be the cute interaction after their 1st kiss and the 2nd task/gate which Lydia takes the test in front of the testing panel. Hopefully, if there is time, I can get spoilers of their date going to night festival. (Well it isn't a date to them, but to readers..it's a date )
