    All I can remember is that the MC transmigrates with a computer in his brain, so he becomes an apprentice to an old wizard in his city, eventually the church finds and kills the MC master
    its not Warlock of the Magus World
    its not The Wizard World

    When A Mage Revolts but he learns from a book although the church does kill his father and is chased out after the church tries to execute the MC.

    might have gotten a different novel mixed up here, since I'm currently reading it right now since I was curious of the title that you recommended, and all I can say its really well written and the plot Is awesome. Well in short it Good.
    Brw he learned magic by self learning. How? He repeated the chant using his(annoyingly) AI until he was able to use "Water Ball" spell and was able to unlocked his conciousnes inside his head.
