This novel has been abandonment by the Webnovel. There have been no updates for almost 2 years and no reply from them if they will continue this novel. I love this novel and it would be such a scheme to let it rot. I am begging for someone to pick this up.
Just because webnovel stops updating a story doesnt mean the translators can start working with it. The second a work they abandon shows some popularity they will send cease and desist orders to prevent others from translating
Its a large scale translations business. When you see things on a purely profit standpoint then its not that unusual.
Which makes no sense "we don't want to trans.late it anymore but still going to horde it and punish anyone who tries to pick it up" wtf. Either pick it up or let someone have a go.
As my second post explains. They only see profits in these translations. When somethings not popular, abandon it, but leave a back door in case it becomes profitable. Lets say Walmart buy land that is in the middle of nowhere. Obviously they arent going to start building there as there is no profit in doing so, but if they have the land and there is news of a city being built in the area then they are going to enforce their ownership of that plot of land Qidans' business somewhat relies on translators taking their unpopular novels and making them popular. If they didnt then they wouldnt keep paying for novels they arent using. So frankly asking someone to translate their novels is just giving them trouble
