Recently started mtling some novels on mtlnovel, I thought I would read something very difficult to understand but unexpectedly understood 60~75% of it.

It depends quite a lot on the genre and writing style of the novels. From my experience with c-novels, an example would be cultivation novels vs those set in modern day. The language is more... simple(?) I suppose, in modern novels and less fantasy-type terms that make it easier overall to MTL.

For me 70% I can understand it. Yep it's depends on Novel. If the Novel is light you can understand it all. But if Novel heavy. hahait's better not to read

I use Google Translate. I say, I understood 90% of the times. The words that's difficult to understand are the realms and skill names in xianxia novels. But other than that, everything is understandable. Machine Translation have gone a long way and it's now very good. Sometimes I even prefer MTL over HTL because I can just read every chapters available.

70-80% probably. It definitely depends on the setting of the novel and writing style of the author.

depends on how much it got edited I guess? The amount of editing and glossary are different for every title after all.

I agree that it depends on the novel. For example those that don't use poems, famous quote and such.

And you pick up common mistranslations as you read more and more, which makes it easier to read as you go on.

I think the level of experience of the reader counts since a total novice would understand less of what is going on in the MTL novel than a person who is reading a variety of novels. Since that prior knowledge helps a lot. For me, I can understand roughly 70 to 85 percent of what's going on for most MTL novels.

it depends on the novel and the author's writing choices. if they chose simple and modern without a lot of slang you can understand 80-90%. if they start getting poetic and complicated or specified like cultivation novels, the understanding goes down.
it also depends on whether the mtl translates names or not. I spent one novel trying to figure out who and what 'Green Tower Break' and 'Broken Tower' was compared to the first translated chapters. the mtl never used his proper name, just the translation. in other translations, they use multiple different translations for what should be a proper name so one person is called five different things randomly.
and it's really confusing when half of the cast is all called by the same name. the translation doesn't differentiate between tones, it just gives everyone the same name, and three to five people are all called Zang Xi. when they are all talking to each other it's easy to get lost.

Around 85% with google translate, enough to summarize the entire novel.

I noticed it actually depends on the mtl of the novel I'm reading. Some novels have good MTL. From there I can understand 90%.
The ones with bad MTL I understand about 60-70%.

Around 60-80%. Then I need to break it out character by character if I want to convert the MTL to readable form for someone else.

I use deepl. com for MTL. It's better than Google Translate, for me.

It's really depends on the genre. I personally never MTL historical genre or quick transmigration. Usually I MTL-ing slice-of-life, modern genre. Since they didn't need more comprehension. I'd say, I understand 80-90% of all novel I MTL.

I actually read mtl from multiple sources at a time, re reading each chapter thrice or more... So pretty much understand 90%, the 10%is when some names are not comprehensive.

Its time consuming, but hey! It's faster than years or decades
