I lost count of how many times i reread it, and it time I regret because it's so good that I want more and more but there's nothing
Is there anything out there that's as good? I find that most of the books trying to follow the same formula tend to have very weak characterization.
Hi guys I'm new to this novel and reading this thread, just found out that this in hiatus for 2-3 years now. Welp ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess I'll jump in this new hellhole I've found.
Rusty Japanese, bear with me. Should be able to get the gist :3 Spoiler: Image 1 Reika: *sigh~* That was fun! As expected, no matter how many times I watch, La*uta is very interesting! Enjou: Satisfied? Reika: Yes! Enjou: I'm glad. Then it's okay now right? Reika: Yes? Enjou: Now is the time we're gonna have the kind of date I want to do. Reika: !? ...Ah, hahiii.... Spoiler: Image 2 (lazy to read kanji, but most likely "Crying Face Situation, what would happen") Enjou's Situation. Reika: *pout* Enjou: *thump* Enjou: Sorry, Kisshouin-san. When your eyes are red you really look like a rabbit. Kaburagi's Situation. Wakaba: *teary~* Kaburagi: *shock* Kaburagi: *panic* She crie-! Takamichi! I- I was wrong! (Takamichi your smiling look is the cutest!) @Uncopyright
Thank you so much, for translating!!! I thought that it happened in the novel but it was only a 'what if' situation. Hahaha, before you translated it, I've got the vibe that Enjou was enjoying Reika's crying face, he kind of borderline a sadist, IMO. XD
To be fair, not like the author owes us anything...if they decided this story didn't tickle their muse anymore, then it really can't be helped. Inspiration is fickle like that. Considering the amount (and quality) of novels that gets adaptations these days, the fact this webnovel never got a LN or anything of the sort should be telling that the author only ever wrote this as a hobby and didn't want to be tied to this story if they got tired of writing. Even if it's dropped, I'm happy I got to have fun reading this anyhow. Writing fanfics to fill in is also allowed I guess.
The main draw of "Kenkyo" is the quality of the character writing. The other things, like the school system, are cool and all but it's really the characters that make the story shine. Unfortunately, I think that the writer is uniquely good at writing characters so even if someone else were to continue the story, it wouldn't be nearly as good.
I can't anymore!!! I need the 'REIKA-SAMA VIBES' during this covid 19 pandemic. I miss them so much! I miss Reika sama, Enjou sama, Takateru sama, Kaburagi sama, Yukino kun the angel and the others. I need them to suit my aching heart! Tasukete kudasai!
It has been 2.5 years since the last time the author updated the novel. So i guess nobody except the author would know. I do hope there will be new chapters soon.
Tbh, do not hold hope. Don't expect the author to update at this point anymore, or you might be setting yourself for a fall. If it does happens that the author gets interested again in continuing to write this novel, then it'll be a pleasant surprise. If not, then it will be a pity, but it happens. I know it's hard, but just forget this novel exists for now.
omg. am i dumb for only just realizing that kenkyo kenjitsu took inspiration from ouran highschool host club after all these years?
It took inspiration from all sorts of shoujo works. But it's not so much Ouran; instead it's from older stuff like Aim for the Ace and Oniisama E. These works are really old so you're probably not familiar with them, but the big ojousama in Aim for the Ace is named Reika, and she has that Rococo hair and Oniisama E has a Sorority that's just like the Pivoine. Ouran also draws from these sources which explains why it seems familiar to Kenkyo.
ohh so i take it the author might be older than me, since they are familiar with these classics. could it be they stopped updating the story because they had a child? sigh...
