Recommendations Struggling MC/Survival Novels

    I've grown a bit tired of novels where everything comes easy for the MC.

    So I'm looking for some action novels with blood and real tension during fights. I want the MC to struggle, I want desperate situations with him surviving by the skin of his teeth, bitterly earning every bit of strength he has.

    I'm fine with the MC eventually becoming OP, but if he does then there has to be some threats or ennemies that are up to the job. To put it simply OP MC yes, dull fights and boring-easily-solved crisis no.

    Usually this comes with some sort of apocalypse/survival setting, but I'm fine with anything really.
    It can be JP, KR, CN (lol) or RRL I don't care as long as it's good.

    https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/14778/spellgun - (few chapters, on hiatus again) - MC is transported naked into what seems to be a cave. Seems to be because it's pitch black. He dies a lot and always respawns at the same spot. Still naked. Still can't see shit.

    I second The Earth is Online. You can also try Dominion’s End, which is an apocalyptic setting.

    How 'bout Kingdom's Bloodline?? I dropped it because mc literally has to suffer every turn, no breaks (and that it was a little too much for my 2 brain cells). It's a transmigration novel (university guy(not sure) to seven year old slave child with a mysterious background)

    I actually quite liked it but yeah, too much...
