The most toxic fanbase I had ever encountered was the fanbase of ORV(Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint).
I basically told ORV fans on a discord that I didn't like the novel and they lost their shit. They proceeded to call me names and a couple of people even said that I should sleep and never wake up. (Basically saying I should die) They also accused me of spreading false info about novels.

I'm not going to lie, I thought that this was extremely funny, it was lowkey hilarious watching people be so angry over a couple of comments.

After this encounter, I wanted to see what others thought was the most toxic fanbase. So, in your opinion, what was the most toxic novel fanbase you have ever encountered?

The discord was the ReaperScans Discord for anybody who wants who know

P.S. Please keep this discussion about toxic Novel fanbases because I don't want this thread to get closed. My previous one got closed because someone brought in religion and that's against forum rules. So remember about the forum rules when you guys post your responses.

Ah, yes. I was just about to reply and it was closed. That said, ORV is pretty good, but that reaction was seriously over the top. It's kinda rude to post those kind of troll comments tho.

As long as the novel has >1000 readers here there's bound to be a fanbase.

I posed that review just to see how toxic the fanbase was. That review wasn't even mine, I just copypasted it from NU. I actually like the novel, it's a solid 7.5/10

Well, as long as any fanbase is large enough, there's bound to be some toxic ones, and that gives the whole fanbase a bad rep. I try not to interact with fanbases very much other than finding and complimenting fanart, maybe editing the wiki for it.

The most toxic fanbases are those for conspiracy theories

Tokyo Ghoul, I went on to celebrate me predicting something & then they went full on crazy. I don't want to remember more but all I can say, they are crazy egomaniacs, who think they are special but they all have mental issues.

    Copy and paste:
In Korean novels aimed at female audience, they are so toxic that they go to the author's twitter to scold her or even report fan-translation sites to Korean publishers

You have Korean celebrities committing suicide due to online harassment.

I don't know if you can attribute it to Koreans in the diaspora attacking you but it won't be the first time.

You are really underestimating the power of online harassment.

Then again you have anonymity on your side unlike Tablo

    https://stanfordmag.org/contents/the-persecution-of-daniel-lee

I react violently to cowards who harass people online like you saw in World Apocalypse Online LCD.

The world is cruel enough. We don't need people to transfer aggression and use others as a venting medium for their shitty lives
