I started it the other day and the first few chapters alone were a breath of fresh air.. I'm super excited to continue reading it
I haven't read it in English, but the "lost in translation" phrase exists for a reason. Before I could read the originals, I read English authors translated and always thought the books and translations were good, but when I had the chance to compare I was shocked how many mistakes and omissions there were in the translations... I even heard the translator of one series speak at a translation panel at a fantasy convention in my country and he was so smug about not even reading the books before starting the translation... Because he "can't choose the books he wants - can only translate what he is given, even if he thinks it's trash"... It made me quite angry. And the author actually praised the translator a few years earlier for being in contact during the translation process and asking many things via email such as "what did you mean here and here?", etc. - so he's (the author) under the impression the translation is really good ~~ Anyway, to not make it a full OT, I'll recommend you a webnovel: Coiling Dragon It was one of my first webnovels and I still think it's one of the best ones out there. There is a treasure involved, but it's mainly some partial protection, not a world-breaking cheat. It's no longer free via official channels, unfortunately... Not unless you have kindle unlimited. Hi there Lilla, how're you doing today? I'm not sure if this is something you would enjoy, but I'm writing a novel myself and I feel like it has a pretty unique plot with not too many repetitive tropes. Genre: Action, Mystery, Sci-Fi What can you expect? Smart MC; a lot of scheming and clever planing - not just plain old "I'm stronger, I win"; realistically choreographed fight scenes; assassins with a little twist to them. If you would like to check it out, here's a link: https://tapas.io/series/Occidendum/info Please, let me know if you happen to check it out and if you do decide to read it, what you think. Thank you very much and I wish you the best of luck!
Omg I would absolutely love to. Thank you for sharing it here ❤️ I hope others who pass by this thread check it out too.
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/dungeon-defense/ It's pretty dark and psychological however. It's one of those series where the tags are very misleading sadly.
That thing with the tags you mentioned is sadly quite a common occurrence I'll take your word on it and give it a go Thank youuu
Have you tried Lord of the Mysteries? Persevere for the first 50+ chapters, and I'm sure you will fall in love with it! I've searched all over the forums for recommendations and a lot of people said that LoTM is one of their top three novels! Check the novel out! It's out of this world.
I've started it recently and just the descriptions of the world alone in the first few chapters were enough to get me hooked
1700+?????? I said I won't do this to myself after I finished Nightfall and its 1100+ chapters but so many of the lovely people here recommended it and I coincidentally started it recently and found it interesting, now I gotta follow it through orz
