I know that on JJWXC, there is a genre called "unlimited flow" (CN novels). As far as I know, it's usually associated with horror/survival game novels, but I'm not really sure on what it means exactly.

I remember coming across the definition in a NU thread, but I have forgotten the definition (unfortunately- my memory is so bad QAQ) and can't find that thread again.

So I would like to ask a quick question: What does "unlimited flow" mean?

Free-refill? So... free to unlock the chapters or is refill pointing to the story content? Sorry, I'm still a bit confused!

THANK YOU for asking this! I have been wondering the same thing. I mean it can be inferred by looking at the titles associated, but I am interested in the definition, why it's called that, what distinguishes it from similar genres, etc. will watch this thread

Haha yes. So I was told (just now lol), unlimited flow (aka infinite flow aka 无限流) is basically when the MC is pulled into different spaces that aren't really the same as "worlds" in QT novels because they're all linked by some other space or something... And they might now have a system, which is common to lots of QT protagonists (systems, at the very least, help them transmigrate, if not also providing them with missions related to romance or something). Unlimited/infinite flow examples are Welcome to the Nightmare Game or Card Room.

A Baidu link is here: https://baike.baidu.com/item/无限流; Baidu tells me it originated from "infinite horror"? So that explains why it seems to be related to horror.

I guess that would answer my own question?

And thank you to everyone else for their responses~ If I got anything wrong above or am missing something, please correct me!

I'd say it means; "Eternal Life". Unlimited meaning infinity, and flow "movement" meaning life. Life is what moves. So, a flowery way of saying immortal.

But usually the stories... aren't about immortality?

Mm, I beg to differ. Most of the stories are about the "passing of the torch", or, "What it means to be strong." Life is resilient. The "immortality" is the ability of a concept, desire, or a species to continue on. That's just my take though.

Unlimited Flow/Infinite Flow is a genre originating from the CN novel Terror Infinity. The genre mainly revolves on world hopping involving fictional works (anime, comics, movies, games and novels) and/or original worlds created by the author. Infinite Flow, as it's 'infinite' namesake suggests, can accommodate all other genres, be it fantasy, sci-fi, horror, romance, etc. Representative works are Terror Infinity (origin of genre), Reincarnation Paradise (most chapters and word count), The Ultimate Evolution (promoter of data flow, an infinite flow derivative that is more game-like litRPG) and Thriller Paradise (most famous horror infinite flow).
