Discussion Anime you hate but others love

Most people here can't tell the difference between hating on something and not liking something

 

For me:
AoT
Fate/Stay series
SAO (w/ SAO Alternative - GGO as exception)
Gundam SEED (I only enjoyed it up to somewhere in the middle...but after ORB destruction, it goes MEH!)
Naruto (Shippuden & up) + Boruto (sometime at the beginning of Inojin kid desertion, the show/story somehow lost it's appeal to me)
Boku Hero Academy (nope x10)
Evangelion's You Shall (Not) series (my reaction after watching The End of Eva, "WTFF R U DOING S**T-HEAD SHINJI!")
Black Clover (it was fun reading the manga early on, but after the anime comes out, I found Asta to be really annoying)
7 Deadly Sin (tried to watch & read due to author's previous work (Kongou Banchou) but somehow felt not my taste)
Fairy Tail (the manga is good & I followed it to the end, but not the anime: the magic runes on it is just felt annoying (though I understand the need for such effects) & too bright for my taste)
Hunter x Hunter
Yu Gi Oh
Death Note

 

What is it that you don't like about AoT and HxH.

 

AoT -> those titans are definitely grossed me out + the dark theme of the story just not appealing for me
HxH -> watch it a few early ep & it just not interesting for me

In any case, most of my favs are comedies & slice of life. Both AoT & HxH just felt really low on that department

HxH is boring. The world was not interesting. The character design was just meh. And I didn't connect with any characters/cared for anyone in the show for watching 13 episode. The characters weren't memorable at all.

And while we're at it..... I REALLY dislike Naruto. It started out good then turned into poo. That Sasuke thing was the first red flag. There's so much to dislike about naruto, I'm just gonna stop here.

Sword Art Online - over hype af. Call me weird but I just really hated how the MC was OP and we didn't even get to see his journey? Like he just swooped in and saved the day. I guess, i needed content. And the romance is trash.

 

Could give names but it goes with a template: "the smug protagonist who always have it easy".
Its the selling point of many works, and while i almost can see why others like it, well i dont agree.
guess i'm just a big fan of the struggle.

 

Watch the 1999 version it's actually slower...but the characters will leave a mark on you.

But then when I point that out to my friends they're just like "yeah that's what you think" as if that makes my statement any less true.

 

I remember plenty of "the best anime of the season" that I just did not understand the hype for. Haikyuu was way overhyped, so was Demon Slayer. Boku no Hero was okay, but it didn't seem like anything praiseworthy. And then there's the existence of the entire isekai genre. Overlord, SAO, and KonoSuba are way more popular than they deserve.

Naruto and Attack on Titan come to mind immediately.

 

SAO and one piece. I really tried to like one piece and watched 150 episodes but I still don't care about the characters and the plot doesn't interest me a lot

I generally don't like watching anime with hundreds of chapters. I would watch them if someone nearby watches it, but I wouldn't go out of my to watch them myself.
