I have no idea what chapters this corresponds to for kakaopage raws, but here's a quick summary of v1 in ridibooks: Spoiler the excuse that Elena gives to Liz for picking a different knight is that she was dazzled by his beauty They all think she's a complete idiot but they more or less buy it and tell her not to do that again. I have no idea what the knight's name is supposed to be so I'm just going to call him Pretty Knight, not that it matters. As of now, Pretty Knight isn't second ML material. He barely shows up in the narrative. the duke throws a regular ball thingy to celebrate an anniversary type thing of the duchy and that's Elena's debut as Veronica. She does as Liz tells her, more or less I mentioned Len briefly earlier, but he had bullied Elena in her previous life because he figured out that she wasn't actually Veronica (Veronica had a scar behind an ear that Elena doesn't have; this time she carved a scar back there just to fool him). He's a loose canon that no one can control; Liz can't stand him because Liz is a control freak. Anyway, at the ball, Elena is playing according to Liz's script until Len drags her onto the dance floor. She gets Len really riled up until he gets hotheaded enough to lose coordination and then she trips him. She uses this as a chance to break out of Liz's watchful eye to talk to another lady This lady is the "most elegant" and "most noble" of the noble ladies. She's never impressed by any flattery and she's known for training the best ladies in waiting, so her word is worth more than gold. But she has a secret that she's having an affair with a driver. Elena has a little internal monologue where she's just done with the nobility and this is so typical of nobles. Anyway, later in her previous life the lady had sent a maid/lady-in-waiting to the duchy and this maid had tried to assassinate the duke to get revenge for her own family. Elena blackmails the aristocratic lady to get the maid transferred to herself so she'll have hands and feet because she personally needs to keep up the obedient act The maid is May; she's the most significant supporting character on Elena's side so far Uh then there's an academy arc. Liz can't go to the academy, so Elena has more freedom there. It doesn't read much like an academy setting because she barely interacts with any students or does student-type things, thankfully. Anyway, she gets the ball rolling on her plans ...which apparently involve just gathering talented commoners in order to increase her social influence? idk, it's not the best plan I've ever heard of. If she really wanted social influence she should probably also do networking which is the entire point of sending noble kids to the academy, but she really only does what she needs to in order to satisfy Liz. Anyway, May is in charge of gathering most of them except for Raphael Raphael is a painter who was sponsored in some way by the Imperial family in her previous life. He was also her teacher, so she's fond of him. Elena actually goes in disguise to meet him, but it turns out he's still young so he hasn't fully developed his style yet so she sees him frequently to give him feedback. Again, I personally think it's a dumb revenge plan because... a painter? Really? but sure, I guess we need her to be in disguise for plot reasons. Anyway, at some point she runs into Cecilia who is already on good terms with our painter friend. (MC: oh no, did I fail to snipe this sponsorship???) (if there's actually a second ML, it's probably this guy) For those of you wondering about why the crown prince was an asshole, I think it may be because of Cecilia who Elena describes as basically an angel and is also Crown Prince Ciel's original fiancee who was poisoned by the duke & Liz in the previous timeline so that Victoria could be queen. Elena had a big ol' crush on him, separate from the power struggles, and he was cold-to-cruel to her, possibly because of the power struggles At some point, she goes out to see Raphael (in disguise), meets Cecilia, and then Ciel shows up. She actually loses strength, blacks out a little, and falls when she sees him; then she makes excuses and runs off. She feels jealous of Ciel paying attention to Cecilia, but also guilty that Cecilia was poisoned (possibly murdered?) last time around, and feels better when she thinks of herself as the villain and that these two people will be happier without her in the way now. Ciel is curious about her because her mannerisms are too graceful and they would be appropriate in the imperial family, but why would a random low-status noblewoman be that graceful? She runs into Len later (still in disguise) and he harasses her because he's generally a bully, not just a bully to Elena. Her mannerisms stand out to him so he kind of suspects that she's in disguise, but she manages to get away. Probably. He might have figured it out, text isn't clear Meanwhile, in the background, a girl saw her faint and thought that disguised!Elena was just trying to get the prince's attention so she goes to inform the lady at the head of the rival faction (oh yeah, those exist); the real Veronica took a turn for the worse so Liz is going to fight poison with poison? because that's a thing?; and Ann is reporting on the MC and reporting to Liz while they're at the academy, but she doesn't actually suspect the MC is anything other than how she appears tl;dr: it's not focused on romance at all so far, until it bashes you over the head with the "bad relationship in previous life, avoiding this time around" trope at the very end.
Can someone spoil the fates of all characters, especially the villians? I hope it's an extremely painful one like from "the villainess reverses the hourglass". Aria and Elena have a lot in common.
Can someone tell me who is Liz? Like What is she a maid/duchess? What is the point of her doing all of this for? does she want to control everything? Is veronica gonna be her puppet or she's doing everything for her?
I actually found it quite... unbelievable??? I mean no matter how two people looked alike, it's not like you could swap them without anyone being suspicious. Unless you put them in a really controlled environment, it's not possible as they are bound to show some habits. What's more, she's actually at a large environment with a lot of variables and even married. The duke and that real daughter are so confident, they're not afraid someone will use this against them huh. But oh well, it's the settings.
^ It probably only works because of its time. If this happened in the modern era, the difficulty would be much higher. But because it takes place in the past, with superstition and conservative ideas were more commonly accepted, they can easily explain it. Tbh, I'm surprised as well, that they're so confident, but not in that others would find out or anything, but more like their confidence in how they expect her to listen to them until their plan works out.

Spoiler: Chapter-99 Elena went to a masquerade ball and make a deal with a masked man.She wanted to buy 10kg opium powder.There was assasins in that room prepared by the dealer but Hurelbad sense it earlier.Nothing happened after that and Elena fixed a date after 10 days to buy that product and got out from that ballroom.Hurelbad escorted Elena to the carriage and Elena told Hurelbad to get in with her.At first Hurelbad refused because only lover can ride a carriage with a lady but Elena kept persuading and He accepted.Hurelbad was so tall that he kept bumping with carriage roof but he endured it all with a straight face.Elena remove her mask.When Hurelbad tried to remove his mask he couldn't because his mask got stuck with his hair.Elena helped him to remove his mask and when his mask was removed Hurelbad's face was all red.Elena waited for Hurelbad to calm down then asked him if he was not curious why she went to the masquerade ball to buy those powder.Hurelbad answered that a knights duty was to follow their master and Hurelbad is honoured that Elena chose him as her escort.Elene was touched by his word that her chest felt warm.She decided to reveal that she is not the real Veronica to Hurelbad.

Spoiler: The Ending ( I have no idea about the details sorry. If I have the courage maybe I’ll MTL some other parts of the novel later ) - the Archduke Ranche was executed - Veronica was decapitated a while after him (the last chapter concentrated on her execution): she was charged with conspiracy, attempt murder, damage the Emperor,... with a total of 11 crimes. Before dying, she cursed everyone, especially Elena : « Don’t think this is the end, even after I die, I’ll visit you every night and drag you to hell » - Before going to the Arc of Triumph (where the execution took place), Elena met up with Len and asked him why he decided not to go, in which he answered : « I’m not interested in the death of a crazy b!tch » - Elena was escorted by Hurelbad to Ciel’s side (Ciel actually had prepared the most visible seat just for her). Wearing an expressionless face, she didn’t take her eyes off the decapitation even for a moment. It was the magic of revenge. Veronica’s neck rolled under the execution table. The revenge was done, Elena could live properly now. She decided to live on with a smile until she couldn’t take any more steps further in life. The side stories are up to 24 chapters now and are still ongoing, maybe we’ll have some other infos about our protagonists later on
