If the world gladiator league opened up where contestants battled each other to the death on both cable television and various live streaming services, would you personally, without seeing any particular reaction from anyone else, be okay with such a sporting event going on? All the contestants agreed to fight to the death in exchange for public prestige and wealth, and there are no legal ramifications back on the league for any health issues any contestant experiences after surviving battle. Once the round begins, all things are fair game until the moment that the internal heart monitor detects that one of the contestants is dead, and they cannot back out of the fight unless both contestants end up unconscious but alive, in which case a revenge match will be scheduled for the future.
A sudden death should be a literal death for both fighters!~ p.s. add in controlling them through virtual reality and call it Mortal Kombat.
you do realized that death fights for gladiators were actually kinda rare, gladiator were kinda of an expensive possession. most fight were only till first blood
I'm against it. What a waste! We already have plenty of passionate sports. Why add a mortal one? And if it's on so many channels on TV, kids could see it. Ot teens would try to watch it in secret and being exposed to such violence isn't educative at all!
ok for da lul not ok cuz the impact it may cause for society on long term~ you know this cat wanna put fight to death thing toward death sentenced or highly bad bad criminal, da winner still put to death via shooting squad or anesthesia tho, well better than hacked to pieces perhaps?
Yes. Let centuries of the establishment of our modern ethics and morals go down the drain for the sake of entertainment and easy fame, money, and prestige!
Gladiator don't just fight each other but animals as well, like Roman's lion fight or Spain's bullfight (which is still practiced in modern time ).
fighting for money, wealth, prestige and etc? no. having the worst of the worst hardened criminals (serial rapists, murderers, pedos and other assorted horrible, evil scum) fight to the death to avoid execution and spend life in jail never to be released? hell yeah.
Isn't that what WWE is? Or did I get it wrong? Though they don't fight to death, they still sign those death contracts right? Not really a fan of such sports so I don't know.
Isnt this already happening? But instead of people fighting people, its state vs state? Wars are televised daily too.. probably different concept than gladiator fight
Aren't underground fights already the modern arena? More so fights with death as loss and victory? If I'm okay with watching people kill each other for my entertainment, then no. If they were absolute scum, maybe.
Seeing gladiator battles in modern society could make people desensitize to the idea of death and murder which all-in-all would make a fucked-up society...
You say it like it something like this doesnt exist? Sure in Many places does this not Exist, cause Law is too strong there. But other places are sure that, Gladiator battles to Death exists there, but only hidden from the Public. And No i am not okay with Battle to Death. You know how many Ways to trick someone into this does exists? Human will always find loopholes to exploit. If you give Human so much leeway to have Public battles to Death, then you cant even imagine how much it will be exploited.
If UFC let you kill your opponent thats what you get. The fighters are like a moderated version of gladiators. Theres probably illegal rings around that do let you kill.
